Regular Member cperry23jd Posted April 11, 2011 Regular Member Share Posted April 11, 2011 Hey guys, Does anyone know if creatine monohydrate can increase male pattern hair loss? Does it increase the rate that DHT occurs? Also Jack3d is a weight lifting energy supplement. I do not think that this messes with any hormone levels, but I'm just curious of any of these supplements can actually increase the rate in which hair loss occurs. Thanks in advance! Senior Member mattj Posted April 11, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted April 11, 2011 Hi, there is quite a lot of controversy over creatine and hairloss. Some guys swear that they experienced hairloss after taking it, but it would seem that there is no scientific reason why this should happen. You can read some discussion on the subject here. Senior Member Dutch Posted April 11, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted April 11, 2011 You can't have increased dht from creatine or protein or even steroids. Yeah the amount of testosterone in the body may increase from some substances but if your body is not sensitive to dht then you won't start losing hair. A lot of body builders take roids but they've got a full set of hair. There isn't a scientific connection between the two http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=2329

Jay Cutler is a great example. Finasteride 1.25 mg. daily Avodart 0.5 mg. daily Spironolactone 50 mg twice daily 5 mg. oral Minoxidil twice daily Biotin 1000 mcg daily Multi Vitamin daily Damn, with all the stuff you put in your hair are you like a negative NW1? Regular Member 1664 Posted October 14, 2011 Regular Member Share Posted October 14, 2011 You will have increased dht from creatine - a study here on humans shows this. Anabolic Steroids are in effect artificial androgens, so if you are pre-disposed to hairloss (if youre on here you probably are) then they will just speed up the inevitable and you'll lose your hair far quicker. Cutler is just lucky that he isnt genetically pre-disposed to hairloss.
Regular Member snowman Posted October 27, 2011 Regular Member Share Posted October 27, 2011 i do not think creatine is something that causes hair loss, people forget we all have creatine already present in our systems, steroids on the other hand have been proven to cause hair loss
