Significant cosmetic improvement 3 years after hair transplant surgery

46 year old Caucasian male, Norwood IV with receding frontotemporal hairline and thinning at vertex, wanted to have flat and lower hair line, temple and vertex transplantation. He understood and responsible for lowering his hair line quite low against my advice. The total bald area measured 61 cm2 in both frontal and temple, and 48 cm2 in the vertex.

The ultra refined follicular unit grafting was done with strip technique and trichophytic closure.

The details of the hair transplantation are as follows: 1 hair: 528 FU grafts, 2 hair: 1418 FU grafts (2836 hairs), 3 hair: 197 FU grafts (597 hairs). A total of 2143 follicular unit grafts, bearing 3961 hairs were transplanted over frontal area.

Both temples were restored with 50 (1 hair) FU grafts on left side and 70 (1 hair) FU grafts on right side. 500 (2 hair) follicular unit grafts were transplanted over the crown.

The patient was followed at 3 years post operative with good growth and significant cosmetic improvement. His donor area has minimal scar as shown in the photographs.

I think his hairline looks great! He appears very stable over the 3 year period.
