Senior Member Thehairupthere Posted March 10, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted March 10, 2011 Many surgeons will recommend doing scalp exercises as it allows your scalp to be more elastic, which in turn makes it easier for them to harvest more grafts as well as helping in the healing process for the scar. Sometimes it's not necessary for the first surgery as your skin is at it's most elastic, but if a patient is going for the 2nd or 3rd time, it would be even more beneficial to do so. It really does work, and you should do it for about 5-10 minutes a day for about 2 weeks before surgery. I am a consultant for Dr. True and Dr. Dorin. These opinions are my own. Senior Member Dan72 Posted March 10, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted March 10, 2011 It also helps you to feel a bit more comfortable post surgery since it means it's less 'tight'. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/Dan72/albums/496 July 2002 HT #1 - Bosley NY - 1800 Grafts Feb 2011 HT #2 - Feller Medical - 2372 Grafts July 2012 HT #3 - Feller Medical - 1702 Grafts (no pics as yet)
