Regular Member jazzsnazz Posted February 6, 2011 Regular Member Share Posted February 6, 2011 If DHT is what causes hairloss, and finasteride is supposed to negate its effects completely, or atleast minimize its potency, than why does it not prevent hairline hairloss, but only crown hairloss? if the same hormone is responsible for killing both sects of hairs, why is it, the crown is "safe" but not the hairline? Regular Member baldingbro Posted February 7, 2011 Regular Member Share Posted February 7, 2011 As far as I know finasteride helps every where. Minoxidil is more effective on crown. My Hair transplantation by Dr Rosanelli
Senior Member Marvin Posted February 12, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted February 12, 2011 This is the result of bureaucracy. Finasteride has only been tested on the crown so it can only make claims about the crown. This doesn't mean that it doesn't work on the hairline, just that it can't claim to do so without breaking the law. I have been on finasteride for almost two years and I've experienced only slight thinning on my hairline in that time. I think it works there.
