UKrohan Posted November 9, 2010 Share Posted November 9, 2010 Hi there, I was wondering if there is any latest news on the efficacy of BHT (Body Hair Transplant in case I got my acronym wrong). I dont have a great deal of donar hair left (dont have a great deal of hair period) but do have plenty of body hair. The latest information I could find is about 3-4 years old. Does anyone know if this is becoming a safer/more reliable or better documented procedure. Any info would be great, thanks guys Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Dr. Glenn Charles Posted November 10, 2010 Share Posted November 10, 2010 The discussions I had with several doctors who perform BHT at the recent hair conference in Boston did not provide any earth shattering new data. Most of the doctors still agree that BHT is still not as successful as scalp transplants, but for those patients who have depleted scalp donor hair it is still a viable option. Follicles from the beard, chest, and legs are the prefered areas to take from.
