Making the slits

While a team is dissecting grafts, the doctor is making the incisions. Say they plan for 3000 grafts. Does the doctor make 3000 exactly? If he ends up with more grafts does he make more incisions later or does he insert two grafts in one hole?

Finasteride 1.25 mg. daily

Avodart 0.5 mg. daily

Spironolactone 50 mg twice daily

5 mg. oral Minoxidil twice daily

Biotin 1000 mcg daily

Multi Vitamin daily

Damn, with all the stuff you put in your hair are you like a negative NW1? :D

Thanks Spex! I didn't know if they would make DFU's, but then that would need a wider slit!

In our clinic we don't make all of the incisions in one sitting. There has to be communication between the doctor and the technicians and this influences the number of incisions being made. In words, the doctor will make the "first wave" of incisions in, say the hairline, then he will make some for the area immediately behind. Then he will step away to let the techs place the grafts and as more grafts are being dissected the doctor knows what size he needs to make the additional incisions as more are finalized and prepped for insertion. The doctor will make the final number of incisions once he has the graft count and the number of grafts with "x" number of hairs in them. This dictates the number of incisions and the size of the incisions as well.

I had the same experience. During my second hair transplant my strip yielded more grafts than expected and Dr. Alexander came back and added more slits.
