shaving recipt area

Recommended Posts

Shaving the recipient area should not be necessary in your case. It is very important when transplanting the temporal triangles that the angles and directions of the existing hairs be copied exactly when making the recipient sites. This would be more difficult if all the hairs in the area where shaved.

We shave ALL big cases. But for a small FUE...it would depend. I agree with Dr. Charles about leaving hair to help figure out angles/etc. In smaller FUE cases like it sounds as if you want, most likely we'd cut the hair in that area to about 3/8 of an inch. That lets us put slits at the correct angle, gives you camouflage of the procedure and facilitates easy placement. And hopefully with a smallish case, you won't have significant shock of the surrounding hair, which will continue to grow a half inch a month, keeping your procedure private.
