After HT 3 weeks ago, I came home yesterday to find a large blot of dried blood on my head. I'm assuming this is a rejected graft. is that right? Is it common, and how long do you think I should expect this to happen?

Thanks

By 3 weeks, the grafts are very secure so it likely isn't a graft. It's likely that some of the scabbing had come apart from the underlying skin but perhaps wasn't quite ready which caused some bleeding.

My other explanation is that you had a pimple, which sometimes can have blood inside mixed with puss. Perhaps it popped. This has happened to me a few times, especially following my second hair transplant which I just had two months ago. The pimples started after the first couple of weeks and are still continuing although they have started to settle down....

I am sure others will offer their thoughts on this too, but I hope this is helpful.

Coriander,

I agree with what Goldilocks - at 3 weeks post operative, your grafts are definitely anchored, and I do not see how this could be a "failed graft." It's likely a scab that peeled off and left some blood. Keep in mind that if this makes you feel uncomfortable, or you start seeing excessive bleeding, you could contact your hair transplant surgeon and review the situation with him/her. Good luck.
