  1. Inflammation meds are probably a question for the doc. Sometimes you need to take the meds until they're gone, sometimes it's just til you stop needing them.
  2. That numbness can stick around for quite some time. I don't know that it's all just fluid - That anesthetic they give you is pretty hardcore, my numbness would come and go for a few weeks, but it beats feeling the stitches.
  3. I've been taking fin for about 6 months now, and I've noticed I'm not as strong "down there" (though a lot of that is guesswork since I've been between girlfriends while I've been taking it). I'm 34 years old and pretty worried, but worrying might be the problem. Not sure how much of this is psychological, and how much is a real side effect. I didn't really make a note of it until this past week.. Ever since I found out about the lawsuit the lad's been nearly DOA, and now I'm concerned it'll never come back. Not sure whether to ditch the fin, or just keep going and hope for the best...
  4. Thanks for the replies, guys. I'm in the same boat, waverskier, it feels weird to see this first wave getting so long without another set of sprouts. Tom60 has a good question. I've heard to wait a year overall, but hopefully the doctor would be available during the 6 month mark to address your concerns so far. it's hard to know when the benchmark should be.
  5. I'm about 3.5 months post-HT and am seeing "new stuff" for the first time - a handful of grafts took root, but mostly a new .25-.5" batch over the past month. But, for those who've experienced this, was there one big hurrah and that's it? Will there be subsequent "waves" of additional hairs filling the gaps over the next few months, or am I just looking at a longer version of what I got?
  6. That scar picture sort of begs the question why you'd go to such extent for an HT just to knock off so much hair. I think for most people if you keep the hair 1/2" or longer it should not be a noticeable factor. As for the OP, you can weigh the pros and cons all you want, but ultimately the decision should come from your gut, and the end result should be for you and no one else.

  14. Yes, that's still pretty minimal. a lot of guys here would be ecstatic to have that kind of hairline. I'd do Finasteride now if you're concerned, and save the HT in case you really need it.
  15. Keep in mind that 2000 grafts is significantly more than 2000 hairs. I think if you've got two opinions at 2000, that's probably the way to go (at least for now to see how it develops). I understand you probably want it once-and-done, but like everyone else has said, you want some ammo for down the line.
  16. Another less serious (but still embarassing) risk of bending or looking down too much post-op is a black eye. There's still a lot of fluid sloshing around beneath the surface of your scalp, and if you allow it to drain forward, you'll get a couple of nasty shiners. Many docs will give you meds to prevent it, but you still want to be wary for the first week or so.
  17. This may seem like a silly question, but I'm 1 month post-HT, and I understand that 3-4 months is when the new hairs start to regrow. I've also heard that hairs last about 18 months before naturally shedding and regrowing. Does that mean my grafts will all shed in tandem 20-ish months from now? Is this something the post-HT community has found in the long term? Thanks.
  18. Thanks guys, that's helpful at least to know the plausible situation. I'll keep an eye on it over the next few weeks.
  19. After HT 3 weeks ago, I came home yesterday to find a large blot of dried blood on my head. I'm assuming this is a rejected graft. is that right? Is it common, and how long do you think I should expect this to happen? Thanks
