Regular Member Dr. William Lindsey Posted April 28, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted April 28, 2010 This young man had a strip procedure with chunky grafts done by a nearby clinic a few years ago and wants his hairline thickened; and made less pluggy. He likely will have significant future loss based upon his family, so we opted for a smallish 1700 graft case. The astute viewer will note that we did not address one area above the left brow at the hairline and that was due to patient preference. Although he has GREAT thick donor hair, he does have a history of keloid formation so we'll hopefully keep a close eye on his scar over the next few months. He has lots of donor hair to use in the future should he need to. Dr. Lindsey McLean VA William H. Senior Member Blake Bloxham Posted April 28, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted April 28, 2010 Dr Lindsey, It's disheartening to see patients with "pluggy," sparse results from recent hair transplant procedures. I'm glad this patient was able to visit your clinic, and I look forward to seeing the grown-out result! Also, you said that the patient is susceptible to future loss, and I was wondering if he is utilizing any oral or topical medications for this issue? Well done, and thank you for sharing this case! Twice
Hello All, I'm actually the patient in the pictures and I have to admit Dr. Lindsey has done a great job. One of the major differences in Dr. Lindsey's office and the other Dr. I visited for the first procedure is the fact that Dr. Lindsey doesn't use "Sales reps". When visiting Dr. Lindsey's office you'll meet with him directly and he'll personally give you free consultation. I decided to schedule the procedure after meeting with him and I can say I'm very pleased with the results. Shortly after Dr. Lindsey removed my sutures I decided to trim off the rest of my hair to about the same size as the grafts and to be honest it's very difficult to tell where my natural hair lines ends and the grafts begin. I've taken a few pictures which I'll post but please bear with me since I took the pictures of the top of my head myself.
