Regular Member cricketlover Posted November 7, 2007 Regular Member Share Posted November 7, 2007 Hi guys, My question is regarding the frontal hairline. I have diffuse thinning on the top of my scalp but my frontal lobe is fine. the thinning does not seem to have affected the hair on my hairline. just half an inch behind my hairline I have diffuse thinning. Only a top view of my scalp will tell you that I am balding where as a front view will hide all the thinning. I dont understand how, of all the hair on the scalp, the frontal hair can be resistant to factors causing thinning. also, since i have thinning on top of my scalp except the frontal region can i safely say that I have atleast a 51% chance that the hair present in this region would not fall out??? Senior Member hairbank Posted November 7, 2007 Senior Member Share Posted November 7, 2007 How old are you? Has this pattern been established for awhile? I've seen people with loss like you describe. Unfortunately you can't assign a percentage change of whether or not you'll keep the hair.............if I was to wager I'd say no, cause the only proven "safe zone" is the lower portion of the sides and back of the head. Are you taking finasteride, using minoxidil or doing anything for loss prevention? If not, I'd recommend considering it to see if it can help you hang on to what you have.
