Regular Member Arson Posted September 6, 2004 Regular Member Share Posted September 6, 2004 Well, when I cut my hair after it's grown long, sometimes I play with what I've cut off and place it on my balding areas. It don't look bad. Since synthetic hair is rejected usually by our bodies... Why not just grow out our own hair to a length we'd like, cut it, then insert it into areas we'd like to fill? Is this possible?
MissMyHair
That would NEVER work becuase hair grows from the ROOT and the ROOT ONLY. You can't transplant cut hair into balding areas on your scalp, It will not stay in place becauase it needs a ROOT to hold on to!
Regular Member Arson Posted September 6, 2004 Author Regular Member Share Posted September 6, 2004 But if they can create synthetic hair, why not cut off hair and implant it... Make it bolbous on the bottom so it'll stick, I odn't know
Regular Member BorderlineHairline Posted September 7, 2004 Regular Member Share Posted September 7, 2004 Or, get this, take your own living hair from the back and sides of your head, THEN implant them into the balding areas... nah, it'll never work. Senior Member Robert_ Posted September 7, 2004 Senior Member Share Posted September 7, 2004 "But if they can create synthetic hair, why not cut off hair and implant it... " Hair is a living part of you. After you cut it off, then it is not attached to the follicule and thus will decay. I see what you are saying but it is just not a viable option because 1) it will not grow 2) it will, literally, decompose on your head. -Robert ------------------------------ Check out the results of my surgical hair restoration performed by Dr. Jerry Cooley by visiting my Hair Loss Weblog
Regular Member Kilimanjaro Posted September 7, 2004 Regular Member Share Posted September 7, 2004 Sometimes, seemingly stupid questions are actually very thoughtful ones. I have read that hair takes a long long time to decompose. Probably even longer than does synthetic hair I would think? And who said it needs to grow?
