  1. GET TO YOUR DOC IMMEDIATELY, YOUR HEAD IS ABOUT TO FALL OFF!!!! Just kidding. Firstly the hair will be very short and thus bristly. Secondly new growth does come out somewhat wirey at the beginning but will smooth out over time. Also if hair was transplanted to your temple regions it will never be the same soft whispy texture of the original hair that it is replacing. Cheers, and happy growing. POST PICS!
  2. New pics will be up in the coming days, I will be 6 months out of the chair on Feb 9th. I will get a new haircut this week to have my donor area REALLY short then post pics. I kinda wish I went a little more aggressive on the temples. Chris, don't kid yourself about the 'little improvement' thing. Thats how I felt, now I regret not going 'BIG'. Although Dr.Hasson probably wouldn't go any more aggressive than he did. He did pile 2100 grafts into a relatively small area....
  3. Chris, thats how I felt. I went for what I thought was the 'gusto' but now at 6 months I feel that I should have went for more than the 2100 that I had done. Maybe I am at the second ugly duckling stage or something, but I really wish I had more coverage.
  4. Take a look at me, although by the way you are posting, it would seem that I was worse off than you.
  5. Good question. I am just over 3 months post-op and I still feel SOMETHING there. Its not pain, I would barely call it discomfort for that matter. I guess just a small pin pricking/ mild burning sensation every now and again on the extreme right and left of my scar. Of course there is also a bit of numbness along the scar, but no where else. Recipient area feels as if nothing has ever happened. If any of you are interested I posted some 3 month pics in the "Experiences" section. Cheers.
  6. for reference, I paid 7600$CAD for 1900 FU's (but received 2100) with Dr.H
  7. I would just make sure to breath properly and lift using the right technique. I know my donor area is still feeling kinda tight, but this weekend I have to move, so I was lifting couches and stuff. I felt fine, but I am almost 4 weeks post op. Just be REALLY carefull.
  8. I am 4 weeks today, and the only time my heartrate has gotten up was with the old lady. I plan on getting back on the gym in a week with light weights and cardio. I waited 5 YEARS for my HT, i'm NOT gonna risk spitting my scar open to get back in the gym hard a couple weeks early. I have really cleaned up my diet over the last few weeks though, knowing that I can't work out for a month, so I have kept the fat from creeping onto my waist more than it would have.
  9. Or, get this, take your own living hair from the back and sides of your head, THEN implant them into the balding areas... nah, it'll never work.
  10. Thanks for sharing that, disappointing as it may be. It should serve as a good warning to those who are considering HT, and what CAN happen given the right 'butcher'. I can safely say that that is the worst surgery I have ever seen. Good luck, and best wishes.
  11. and ONE of those would have sent me running, let alone, damn near half a dozen. WALK
  12. I'm REALLY glad you have had a great experience. In terms of "recommending to anyone" the Doctor you chose, you should hang tough and see how the rest of the process shakes out (regrowth, shape, density, scar healing etc) before recommending. It is easy to get the 'new toy feeling' after a (IMHO) life changing and likely long awaited procedure. Please don't take this as a slag on your experience. It is GREAT to hear that you got extra grafts, other goodies at no charge, and had a great all around experience. But as far recommending people to a particular Dr, I think one should wait for results. I mean if you were post op from a heart transplant and everything seemed fine, then you found out that he gave you a babboon heart and you are set to die in a few months, and meanwhile you recommended the Dr to other people, you may feel kinda goofy. Bad analogy, I know, but you get the idea. Anyhoo CONGRATS!, and I hope all goes BEYOND your expectations, i'm sure it WILL look great!
  13. [Funny picture, yes; though I did have to take it down due to its graphic content. -Robert]
