  1. What about Dr. Reed in La Jolla or McAndrews in Bev Hills?
  2. I used to post here... I had strip surgey with Dr. Cooley in NC with pretty good results, I'm satisfied. The flight was expensive though.. And I'm losing hair in another area that I'd like taken care of. I'm on propecia right now... Is there anything new in the hairloss field? What about that homeopathic BioSystem or whatever it's called, is it a scam? What about any good Dr's in LA that can do about 200 grafts... I haven't kept up with my who's who's and how much they are. Somebody please help, and thanks so much!

  4. L'Anonyme... Well, he wasn't so into the idea and warned me. He said I was young and still could have hairloss around my grafts... But my case is different, I've been waiting around for a procedure for 5 years... My hairloss was all receded on only one side, giving a completely unnatural look as is. Not even your typical mature hairline... More like a huge circular hole out of nowhere, on one side only. So I guess he sympathized with my story and reasoning to do it after some discussion.
  5. Yes I am... Actually I heard from my doctor, apparently this is a normal part of the process. They said if I lost any follicles it would bleed a little bit and I'd definately know a follicle had come out.
  6. Cantona... I just had 400 (they underestimated and it actually came out to 491 hehe!) transplanted to my head by Dr. Cooley... Just on the temples to fill it in. My reasoning?: I'm 23, fuck it, I'd rather look good during the best years of my life, and shitty during my old ones, instead of just "meh" the whole way through. So if you wanna think along that line of reasoning, I say go for it. The way you style your hair in the 1st/2nd pic makes your hair look real thick as is... But If you want to feel better when you swim or pull your hair back, I say get it done man.
  7. Don't know if you'll see my message below so... Yeah about 10 days post op, I'm having dry skin problems and dont know if just the hair is falling out, or if the follicles are too? Just worried! What do I do? Shouldn't the follicles be embedded pretty deeply in my scalp by now? but with the flakey peely skin, could that take them out? or what about the scabs, is this just the scabs peeling off? Should I be worried? When is the transplanted hair supposed to fall off?
  8. Lol... I was just about to sign on and post about this. I'm getting the same thing 10 days post op, sometimes the flakes come out with the hairs, I'm wondering if this is normal? Worried it may be the follicles But yeah, it's real dry and a pain in the butt. Worried.
  9. They said I could use anywhere from 150-500 grafts... I'm probably gonna go with 250 cuz I don't want anything too ridiculously dense nor do I want to use up all my donor hair. Also, should I use some of my body hair as "filler" along with my regular donor hair to save up? Not only that, but I'd like to not have a scar, so would FUE be wise? and how much of a price difference? With 250 units, I'm looking at about $1250 I'd spend on the surgery. Not only that, scheduling a flight and all that BS from cali to north carolina seems like a real pain in the ass. What should I do? It's rather expensive!
  10. Might as well go to party city, get some black makeup for halloween costumes, and smear it on your head. It's THAT messy. It also made my hair rigid and weird, so when I tried to comb it, it only tugged and made more hair fall out that usual. I'll stick with Toppik
  11. In my previous post, one member suggested monoxidil on my temples. I thought this doesn't work? I've tried it for about a year once... Does it work for some people? Whats up?

  13. To close off that right temple... I'm only trying to go down far enough to match or be somewhat more near my left temple
  14. Mine stick out a bit. It's not a big deal, but I do look funny and elfish at times with my ears that stick out. They're not big ears, they just stick out, ya know? Any info on this?
  15. Thanks for the advice, all of you, I appreciate it.
  16. I was considering DeYarmen, he seems like a very good doctor and he is local. But I couldn't help noticing people's results with Dr. Cooley, and am thinking about flying over there to get it done. I've spoken to DeYarmen before, and emailed Dr. Cooley.
  17. The women thing is false. And as I have said in my earlier post, I've been on propecia and rogain for three years or more already.
  18. Thanks for the input. However, I have heard this before. Obviously, guys with worse hair conditions would kill to have the hair I do have. But that does not mean my hair has not receded. It also does not mean my hair problem is not obvious, especially the lopsidedness of it. It looks worse than the picture shows, to be honest. The left side is great and I'd like my whole head of hair to stay that way. You speak of a transplant making it look unnatural... Well, look at my hairline. It is already unnatural. The right side isn't just receded, and pushed back. It is as if I have one disease-ridden circular patch of skin on one spot of my head. I just want some equality here, and I'm sure I'm going through with this. If my hair worsens, I can always shave the temple hairs or get another transplant. I don't want a scar or have to deal with major surgeory so I'm thinking FUE for the time being, until I do need a major transplant elsewhere.
  19. Been thinning for 5 years. I've posted many times describing my situation. I've been on this board for a long, long time. I've waited 3 long years after talking to Dr. DeYarmen about a transplant. I'm 23. Been on Propecia for 3 years, been on monoxidil even longer. I have a lot of hair, but my hairline, is unnatural looking and ugly. Both temples lose hair, but the right is disturbingly fast and looks horrible against the rest of my thick, black hair. When light shines through it... I'm sure you all know the embarrassing details. I've spent my life wasting away in front of a mirror trying to cover it up and make it match the left side. It feels almost as nerve-racking as those who describe wearing a hairpiece. These pics are from weeks ago. I've been sick and the right side has seen a bit more loss recently. I want something done. I've heard it all "Wait til you're older" etc etc, but I couldn't help notice Brando's hair and transplant. He had his when he was 20. I can't imagine wasting my best years away like this anymore. I'm convinced this should be done, after all my research and listening to you guys. I want something done this summer. With DeYarmen or Dr. Cooley. Advice?

  23. WHy at age 40 would one care so much about their hairloss though? I don't understand this You guys should be married with a wife who has been through thick and thin with you, and doesn't care too much how you look! I'm 23. My career, girls, social life, EVERYTHING is on the line as well as my insecurities. Why be bald now when this is the time I should seize everything?!
  24. I have done my research. I'm 23. Normally I look like I'm age 19. When visible my receded hairline makes me look 30. Not fun. Yes, I know FUE is the way to go. Like I said, I've been studying for years. The doctor in SD does the FUE procedure, his name is doctor DeYarmen I believe. I don't want some thick dense over exaggerated procedure, I just want something natural and decent that won't give away to holes or sunlight peircing thorugh my head and showing the big hole i have in my right temple!
  25. I've waited 3 years (due to being told to WAIT, I'm too young, bla bla bla) While still a young 23, now is the time to get this done. My hair, is thick, black. I'm a hairy guy. My recession is only on one side of the temple, my right side. The left is barely starting to go, it looks like my right side did when I was 19. So my temples are 4 years apart. Very unnatural looking. I usually comb my hair back, but recently I leave it "wild" and some of it forward to cover it up. I'm only 23, to do this is time consuming and sad. It doesn't look right on my head. I want like a 250-500 FUI session mainly on my right side, just to buy me time. I understand that my hair may recede more. But this is my HAIRLINE... I can cover it up for years if I have a restored hairline (the hardest part to combover is the hairline afterall) I have an abundance of hair. I figure they can use my sides and back to replace the hairline. And if and when it gets worse, I can use my arm, chest or leg hair to fill in the rest (IF I don't have enough transferrable hair on my head, that is)... Not to mention a little bit of Toppex and long, long hair to cover up thinness in the middle. I've been on propecia for years. I use monoxidil as preventative on my crown. I need to do this. I can't travel. I have a 3 week long vacation from work coming up in december. and about $1,500 to burn. Advice please! There was one doctor in San Diego (I'm in LA) recommended to me years ago that was said to do a decent job. Advice! Please! I'm in the entertainment business. As superficial as it is, as much as I'd rather be natural and say "hey, this is me" i can't risk losing my younger years for not getting a simple 500 graft procedure done.
