Senior Member mrkneed Posted November 14, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted November 14, 2008 If I remember correctly after my first procedure you can shower regularly at the 10 day mark so I assume you can put the water on a higher pressure to help remove the scabs - is this ok? Regular Member tommyf Posted November 14, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted November 14, 2008 you really need to take your surgeons advice, but I think the assumption is after 10-14 days the grafts are more or less permanent. I waited a little longer, just washed my hair more often and lots of vit E oil seemed to do the trick. If in Doubt contact your surgeon!!!! good luck tommy My Hair Loss Website - Hair Transplant with Dr. Rahal
Senior Member Eman Posted November 15, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted November 15, 2008 Like tommy said, follow your docs instructions. Some scabs were still around for me at the three week mark. My initial HT thread: done and done!! Check it out...
Senior Member new2thissite Posted November 17, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted November 17, 2008 I was advised that the grafts can be dislodged the first 9 days and at day 10 I could scrub the crusts off. Senior Member latinlotus Posted November 28, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted November 28, 2008 Dr. Cooley said at day 7, you can wash normally. use finger tips (not nails) to massage and try to remove the scabs. Like Tommy said, follow your doctor instructions. Note that keeping the scabs and baby treat your grafts for a longer period than required do not necessary mean it is better. ******** I am not a doctor. The opinions and comments are of my own. HT with Dr. Cooley on Nov 20, 2008 2097 grafts, 3957 hairs Proscar, 1.25 mg daily, skip the 5th day, started Nov 2007 My Hair Loss Blog - Hair Transplant with Dr. Cooley
