Senior Member troy Posted April 13, 2006 Senior Member Share Posted April 13, 2006 I went to walgreens and tried to find toppik, I also looked for and kinds of gels that would say thickening, I didnt find any. I bought some really cheap junk and when it dries it looks like white dust in my hair. So where can I get toppik? what is a good thickening gel, I may not need toppik if I found a good gel. Also what is the difference between toppik and gel? My Hair Loss Weblog

Senior Member hairbank Posted April 13, 2006 Senior Member Share Posted April 13, 2006 Troy, Toppik is a thinning/baldness concealer and is colored, gel just holds the hair in place better or some go for the wet look with it. If you want a concealer, many use dermmatch with a little toppik sprinkled in. After it dries, you can use gel with it. I think Robert posted a series of pics on HTN showing dry look and gel'd if you care to search for them. For a gel that's healthy for the hair, you may want to try Nioxin's gel. You should be able to get it at Walmart or any hair salon. I use Nioxin scalp and hair treatment and have the gel.........I just need some hair to go with it. Oh well, more waiting. Found the link to Roberts pics with dermmatch. I think the 3rd page shows a gelled look. If I can come close to that look myself after my HT comes it I'll be a happy camper!
