Scalp itch?

Greetings All,

 

I'm 23, I started rapidly losing my hair about a year and a half ago...blah blah... I'm 99% sure i have MPB (my dad's side has a lot of baldies).

 

However, ever since my hair started falling out I have had an insane itch on my scalp. I've tried everything, from switching shampoos/conditions multiple times, using T-gel/other dry scalp shampoos, not using shampoos, etc. I used Rogaine for 6 months, but have been off it for close to a year now. I have even been to 2 dermatologists, who were no help whatsoever (one didn't even look at my scalp). So I'm wondering if this itch is normal for people who are balding.

 

Also, relevant to the itchiness: whenever my head is itchy is when my hair falls out. Though so far my hair loss isn't blotchy and still looks like MPB.

I dont know if its the same thing I had but, as my hair loss excelled so did the itching and also dandruff was apparent.

Try xra stregth dandriff shampoo it should help with the itch. Nizoral 10% is good choice as well.

The key with itchy scalp is moisture, so make sure you dont use blow dryer on "hot air" and wear cap in sun to prevent dryness.

Im 4 months 1 week post and itching also not to mention a mini explosion of pimples all over especially the crown and in the scar line.

i think switching shampoos multiple times, using T-gel/other dry scalp shampoos may switch to this problem. You need to consult with a good doctor and get advice what type of shampoos you should use for your hair type.

For my hair/scalp ...Head and shoulders works the best to prevent itching...have tried Nizoral, selsun and other dandruff shampoos...but simple Head & Shoulder works finally...
