Am I the only one who's thought of this?

Hey guys,

So has anyone else ever considered getting work done back to front? Everyone on this site seems to prefer to work on the hairline first and worry about the crown last. Personally I would prefer to have hair in the crown with a high hairline. You can always comb the hair forward right? Would most guys really prefer to have a bald crown than a high hairline? It just seems to me that it wouldn't be so obvious that you're balding. Maybe you just have a high hairline. Any comments?

That's an interesting point of view that I think probably isn't shared by most. For me, the crown is the iceing on the cake.

Arfy recently quoted a doctor on my thread "The Whorl" with the following
quote:
One doctor said "Losing hair in the front hurts your appearance, but losing hair in the crown only hurts your feelings". The idea being that a bald spot in the crown is fairly common, and doesn't detract as much as losing the "frame" around the face.

As humorous as "only hurts your feelings" is (in my opinion), there is a ring of truth to it.

The bottom line though, if this is your preference, I don't see why not.

I had my HT (1034) 3 weeks ago. I still had some hair up front but the crown was gone. I comb my hair straight back, so once the scabs came off no one could notice any change. When I go back for HT #2 (1250), we will work on the crown and I will let the new graphs grow out a bit to further mask that I had anything done. After 10 days, I left the hat at home and no one knew what I did. If I had started with the crown, it would have been more obvious. Again, I am not doing mega sessions like some of these guys, which is great, but I don't have the donor supply. That is why I started in front, vanity. BTW, I am at day 22 and over 90% of the recipient area is still hangin around. This is only my opinion though.

I went to Dr. Cohen in Fairfield CT. I think the experience was great, but to be fair I will wait until the results are in to make my final judgement. I am very happy right now though. I think he is conservative in the # of HT's he will do. As a matter of fact, he took pictures of the procedure for a lecture at Yale he was giving a few days later. So I know my scar will be good!
