Senior Member Robert_ Posted September 30, 2004 Senior Member Share Posted September 30, 2004 KenEastCoast, If I am reading your post correctly, then you are speculating on the posibility of a "wonder drug" that millions of hair loss sufferers have been been hoping for...well...ever; one that will grow hair from where there is now bare scalp; one that will grow back the hair we had at, say 16 years old. If this is what you are referring to, then I would see no reason that a hair loss sufferer that has had a hair transplant could not benefit from the "wonder drug" (oh, I am so tempted to call it RK-20 just for the heck of it...haha) Anyway, since we are speculating, I would guess that any hair grown back would simply grow back between the transplanted grafts and all of them would be happy little neighbors together. I don't think that the hairs competing with blood supply for nutrients would be an issue. I also do not think that the surrounding skin in the scalp is affected from a hair transplant detrimentally to the point that a new hair follicle couldn't poke up through there. I am sure that someone out there has had a hair transplant in the crown and was prescribed Finasteride at the time of the procedure and subsequently had new growth as a result of the medication in the same area that the grafts were placed. I have seen no documentation of this specifically happening but I am sure that it has happened to SOMEONE. All in all, it is fun to dream about a "miracle drug" (RK-21?) but unless you know something that the rest of us don't, it doesn't look like there is anything like that in the form of a pill on the horizon just yet. -Robert ------------------------------ Check out the results of my surgical hair restoration performed by Dr. Jerry Cooley by visiting my Hair Loss Weblog
Senior Member Brando Posted September 30, 2004 Senior Member Share Posted September 30, 2004 I recently saw on the news a patch women wear that gives them testosterone and it's their form of viagra. It gives their sex drive a BIG boost. Side effects include major facial hair growth. Who knows. Maybe if a bald man put some patches on his head, he may grow hair? Lol...I can dream, right?
