Regular Member folicallychallenged Posted November 16, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted November 16, 2008 A month has flown by since I had my first ht with Dr Feller. I've only recently received the photos and only now have I had the time to put everything together. I stayed at the Andrews hotel in Great Neck, which is a US 3* but is more like a UK 4*, it's a nice little hotel, which I'd recommend to any Dr Feller patient. On the day, my very early 6.50am taxi was a couple of minutes even earlier. I ended up getting to Dr Feller's office just before 7am, which was way WAY too early as I wasn't supposed to be there until 7.45! So I ended up twiddling my thumbs for 40 minutes. Note the journey form the Andrews to the office takes 5 mins! Once the Doc arrived we went to his office where he took some photos, we then discussed my plans, I'd deliberated for a long time about exactly what I wanted done, but I was still very unsure, so I left it up to the expert and let him do his thing! In the end he went for 3,000 grafts in the front half and 1,000 in the crown, I know my crown is still likely to be very thin, but it should give me some coverage and this is something that can be addressed in ht2. The gap left between the two parts is where my hair is at its thickest, but again possibly something to be addressed in ht2. The op itself was pretty painless, the injections are renown as being the worst part, I've read someone liken them to wasp stings and that's about the jist of it, not particularly fun but nothing too heinous, anyway they were over within a few minutes. I then sat there in a valium induced trance for hour upon hour, I think I may have been too high to be bored, because I didn't even ask for the tv to be put on ????? . The op itself wasn't anywhere near as bad as I anticipated it was after I started to feel rough. After it was over and I got out of the chair and I started to feel a little odd, I got the shakes and my breathing quickened. I then proceeded to faint for maybe 10 seconds. It took me I guess about 30 minutes to feel half normal again. Dr Feller put it partly to the adrenalin shots and the fact that I didn't want lunch, as I didn't want to slow the techs down. So moral of the story is unless you want to like me look like a tit and suffer some moderate embarrassment....eat something for lunch ????? The Doc then gave me a lift back to my hotel, I think he was afraid I might never make it back............Dead patients are after all bad for business ????? First night was really tough, I couldn't eat anything, I threw up twice for whatever reason, and I only managed to get to sleep in the early hours of the morning. Though, when I woke up I felt pretty good and I even went down for breakfast at 9.30. All in all I was a provided an excellent standard of service and care by Dr Feller and his staff, I'm only a month out so I obviously can't speak for results yet, but I'm confident. and I'm already putting money away for ht2! The dreaded hair greed has struck again! My Hair Loss Weblog - Hair Transplant with Dr. Feller

Bill - Seemiller
follicallychallenged, Thanks for documenting and posting photos of your surgery with Dr. Feller. I'm sorry your first night was a little difficult. But I'm glad you could eat normally the next day. 4000 grafts will make for a very nice improvement. And if you want more density later, you can always go back Keep us posted. Bill
Regular Member folicallychallenged Posted November 17, 2008 Author Regular Member Share Posted November 17, 2008 Cheers Bill, I have excellent donor, so the plan is to go back in around 2 years and go for a big one again to fill the crown and possibly add density or lower the hairline a bit.
