Senior Member Maxxy Posted November 21, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted November 21, 2008 Hey Zaz, Retin-A has been proven to reduce or atleast reduce the appearance of scars and wrinkles, also some people swear it actually helps regrow hair. I have not read about it being used on a donor scar but don't see why it couldn't be.

Senior Member Smoothy Posted November 22, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted November 22, 2008 I always used Mederma and natural Vit E oil while taking a shot of AlaVera juice during my procedures. This really reduce any raising or scaring as well sped up the healing. Its been 4 yrs since last HT, so might be something new. Ask your doctor and call local costmetic surgeon for suggestions. Graphcyte is good for speeding up healing of the grafts at recp. site and last procedure I Also used this on my strip incesion with Mederma. Senior Member Dr. Ricardo Mejia Posted November 27, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted November 27, 2008 if it is an old scar, products are not likely to be too beneficial. You may need to consider trichphytic scar revision. Fresh dermatologic surgery scars can be treated with ALdara, silicone, mederma, plain aquaphor ointment for moisturiztion, pulse dye laser treatments, although this would not be too advisable near hair follicles. My experience is good surgical technique helps reduce the need for topical treatments.
