PGP,

Many of our hair restoration physicians have been joining us almost every week for live chat. It is nice to see them take time out of their busy schedule and offer their professional and expert advice.

There was no general consensus on this topic to my recollection. Rogaine can be useful however, it's a commitment. Any benefit will be lost when the medication is stopped.

Some hair restoration physicians believe in using it post-op for the first several months to "jump start" hair growth. I am not sure there is any real evidence that this works - but some swear by it.

Sabravo,

Thank you for your interest.

I have not posted the live chat summary for this week yet, but I will be doing so in the next couple of days. I have posted one chat transcript, but from the feedback I received on the last one - it probably isn't worth posting due to it being harder to follow.

All live chat summaries, instructions, information, and posted transcripts can be found by clicking here.

Best wishes,

Bill

Regarding Minoxidil post surgery

I really can't see the benefit other than possibly speeding up the growth process ( if it indeed does that). As a result you will have to continue using it forever because if you stop you can lose benefits of growth gained ( terminal hairs etc).

For me I would rather be a bit more patient
