Regular Member misterno Posted May 17, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted May 17, 2008 Yesterday I got the HT and I am over it now. Pheww what a relief. He gave me samples of Propecia and I am plannig to take it from now on. But I learned from this forum that Proscar is a cheaper alternative. Doctor said if I use proscar, your future insurance company will deny to cover prostate problems due to my proscar intake stating that I had taken proscar in the past(pre existing condition). Because proscar has the same ingredient that prostate drugs have. So he recommended me to take propecia instead. That way, in the future if prostate problem occurs insurance company can not cliam pre-existing condition. Is this true? http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/showthread.php?t=147085
Bill - Seemiller
misterno, Most insurance companies won't cover Proscar, but nonetheless, it is still cheaper even if you pay for it out of pocket. Insurance companies certainly won't cover Propecia. As opposed to $180 every 3 months, you'll end up spending $80 every 4 months with Proscar. Good savings if you ask me. Just be sure to split the Proscar pill into quarters and take one quarter daily. Best wishes, Bill
