Senior Member dakota3 Posted January 13, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted January 13, 2008 Does anyone know if propecia helps hold onto the hair in the front of the head? Also assuming propecia is working does it just slow down the proccess over your lifetime or if you continually use it is it possible to hold on to all of what you have left? Rogaine is more said to slow down the progression of hair loss, but Propecia is more said to put hair loss to a stop. Regrowth is limited to dormant hair follicles, not dead ones, so this depends on how far your baldness has progressed. A receded hair line or a bald spot contains dead hair follicles, but Propecia preserves hair that is there all over the scalp.
