Typically around 10 days post-op. My wife removed mine on day 9 as skin had started to grow over the stitches. My scar was red for several months - now at 6 months there isn't any redness but there is still a scar and I doubt it will disappear completely. I didn't have tricho closure so there isn't any hair in the scar area. My scar doesn't actually look like a scar, the skin looks like ordinary scalp; it's just a line without hair.

10 days plus or minus a couple either way for staple or stitch removal. Dr. Wong gave me the green light at 8 days for staple removal after my 2nd HT. If you have stitches, your Doc or GP will likely remove them..........you can do staples if you have a willing wife or significant other.

 

Scar healing varies as we all heal differently. As Dr. Wong told me after my 2nd HT.........."I've done my part, now the rest is up to you". Some will heal better than others. For me, now being around the 3 month mark post-op, there's still just a little red tint to the scar. I did have the trichophytic closure method and hair has started recently growing through the scar.
