Pale, Bald, Scared, Sad, Ready to Do it.

Point taken.

I think endoftherope knows that what Im saying is very much only my opinion. Im sure he will come to his own, educated choice.

As for the fair skinned , blonde hair, you can check out a post from Slick

http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/showthread.php?t=143681 who has had 2091 fu's recently. You can see his post at Hair Transplant Patient Photo Albums.

Good luck with your decision, either way.

I should think that at only 16 weeks, things are only just beginning to happen. Another month and you'll be scoring every weekend again icon_wink.gif

Again, I really appreciate everyone's responses and opinions. BrianF, your input was refreshing and humorous but I can understand why it illicited a bad response from some readers. Needless to say, it didn't bother me much because I'd like to get as many opinions as I can before leaping into this thing and the more straight forward and honest they are, the better. I might not agree with all of them, but it's very helpful to see this decision from as many perspectives as possible.

In response to Alexander's question...

Women don't know about my hairloss because I wear a hat. I've been wearing a hat for ten years now. That's why it's a surprise when women find out I'm loosing my hair and that's why they back away slowly. I know it's best to loose the hat so there's no surprises for women later, but whenever I do that, I find that I have no luck with women what-so-ever. I always end up taking a back seat to my friends.

Right now I generally pursue women around 2 - 6 years younger than me which means they are about 27 - 23 years of age. Any younger than that and they tend to be way too immature for me to tolerate (even 23-24 is stretching it). I have dated mature women in their early thirties, but the problem with mature women is that they have already had their fun in the sack and tend to hold off FOREVER. Not that I'm pursuing them solely to have sex, but please understand, I missed out on my late teens and 20's. Hell, I was a virgin until 25. Dammit, I want to fool around while I'm developing the relationship. I've still got some youth left. This is my last chance to go out and experience it so I can put all my questions and fantasies BEHIND ME.

I'm not a shallow person and I don't ask much. I just want to experience life the way so many other guys have. Judging by the attention I get when I'm wearing my hat versus when I'm not, a hair transplant looks like it might be the answer for me. I've just always been too afraid to pursue it.

As for being bald, confident, and proud, as I stated before, I simply don't look good bald. This is not a matter of harsh self criticism. It is a simple fact. I am extremely pale. My eyebrows and eyelashes are so pale that they are hard to see (which is odd because my hair is a dirty reddish blonde). Without hair on my head I look almost completely hairless altogether.

I do think women can be attracted to bald men. I really do. But some guys just don't look good bald and unfortunately, I'm one of those guys. Sometimes I wish sexual attraction didn't matter at all, but it kind of does. I once tried dating a woman I wasn't sexually attracted to and I felt like I was living a lie. I know sex isn't the driving force of true love, but it is definitely a piece of the puzzle.

By the way... thanks for the link Brian. That is exactly what I was looking for. Slick's skin color, hair loss, density, and coloration is very similar to my own. If anyone else has any links to HTs on extremely pale skin, I'd like to see them. Thanks!

K, I have got some of the palest scottish skin you will see and freckle easliy. In some pics my head and hair look quite red but when in person not as much. I have had a few HT's and my skin gets very pink for a short time, but when the hair grows thru it you can not notice it, in fact with my pale skin I think a slight hint of redness hepls the hairs appearance especially if your hair has some red in it, it can make it appear fuller than it is. My head might still have a slight red tint, and I mean slight, but it doesn't stick out at all, with your hair color and skin it might even help your appearance as well when the hair starts to grow

The fact is, in the western world anyway, girls of today are as pretentious and fake as they've been in the history of mankind.

It's basically because of what they see on TV and read in glossy trash mags. You know, monkey see monkey do.

Nothing like a little unsugarcoated honesty..

I am a good looking, witty guy who used to score every weekend, no shit. That all changed when I started losing my hair. I could see girls eyes staring at my hairline as they were talking to me and their interest in me faded. Sure, I still had my fair share of girls after balding, but nothing like the numbers or quality as before.

Some may say it's because your confidence is lacking if you're balding, maybe so. It still doesn't change the fact.

I say get it done.

You're lucky you're around in todays world of excellent, undetectable HT's. In the old days you would have been butchered like so many of us older guys have and you would have spent not only your 20's but also your 30's hanging out in the background.

Unlike what most psychiatrists, psychoanalysts etc etc say, revenge is sweet. Make sure you break a few of those hearts that gave you the brush off because you were bald when you get your new hair.

But you're going to be out of action for 2 months while your donor and recipient area get back to pre-op stage. Do not believe this "everythings OK after 2 weeks" bullshit.

But it will be worth it. 2 months out for a couple of decades in.

Good luck,

Cheers

Don't be misleading. 99.9% of ht's are detectable under close examination. The hairs will always be thicker than naturally thinning hair and you don't have enough to go around so the spacing will not be as close as your original hair. You will have small white dots around each hair as an incision was made leaving a tiny scar. A hair transplant is for a bald man to get a little hair on top or for someone, say an nw2 to get a hairline. Other than that you will still look balding and receding. You will never have chick magnet hair. I have Elvis hair so my ht looks bushy. Good luck.

Whoa East Coast: Whose transplants are you looking at. I just looked at my transplants under a magnifying mirror and I can not tell the differnece between my original hairs and those that were transpalnted. Maybe the white dots were there a few years ago, but I don't have them and my procedure was done 5 months ago.

Eastcoast,are you from India?

India has not yet caught up with the western world regarding hair transplantation. Are you talking about follicular unit grafting?

After 16 weeks I have some hairs coming in now in my hairline and crown and I can't tell what hairs were original and what hairs were planted. And I'm scrutinising my hairline 5cm from the mirror with a magnifying glass.

I think you are talking about the "mini & micro" grafts that were around in the 80's and 90's. They are still used in India today, and yes, THEY are detectable.

But I must disagree with you about todays excellent results in the west.

You can check out the photos on this forum and see for yourself.
