Bill - Seemiller
gallup, Yup, they are still working on it. It's an exciting concept but in my opinion, if/when it will become available is questionable at this point. Best wishes, Bill
Senior Member PLEASE GROW PLEASE Posted June 5, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted June 5, 2008 According to a few posters who have had surgery from Dr Armani said he claims its 18 months away
Senior Member hatrick Posted June 5, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted June 5, 2008 the good news is its on the horizon and will only get closer to being available with every year that passes. the one concern is how much it will cost. this is especially great news for younger guys, like myself, who don't have to worry so much about using up too much donor hair on the frontal 1/3. Senior Member dakota3 Posted June 5, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted June 5, 2008 While this certainly wont change the world, for us balding brotheren it would be one of the most exciting days of our lives when/if this were to become available. But only if we can afford it!
Regular Member Aussie19 Posted June 6, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted June 6, 2008 How will this help in managing to create an aesthetically pleasing hairline? I can see major issues with angle of hairs, density variance, etc. Even with this technology, as wonderful as it is, I still think hair transplants will be a major part of restoration for a while to come. Regular Member HTinthefuture Posted June 9, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted June 9, 2008 I think with anything, once it becomes mainstream it will become cheaper as more and more companies do it and more and more people sign up for it. take for example when hair transplants first became an option. plasma tvs (they were 25k when they first came out) microwaves, cd/dvd burners. The only question is if and when. If it does happen, it wont stay expensive for long. I am sure those doing the treatment would rather sell it to millions for less, than a select few for huge money. Its not a ferrarri, its hair.
Senior Member hatrick Posted June 9, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted June 9, 2008 in reading the article, you will find that this company is not cloning hair follicles. This company only clones dermal papilla cells which do not produce hair they only help to promote hair growth. So this isn't exactly what most people want, but im sure it would still be helpful to some patients, assuming it doesn't cost 40 billion dollars.
