Regular Member compaqpresariopc Posted October 24, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted October 24, 2008 my hairline has receded and I was wondering what works best for shiny temple/scalp area ? Is there a cream or powder that removes the shine ?
Bill - Seemiller
compaq, That's a very interesting question and one I don't think I've ever heard before. I have absolutely no idea - but perhaps we can do some searches on google for thing like: "Shine Busters" or "Balding Blinders" Of course, I'm being facetious about the terms, but I do wonder if there is a product for something like that. Senior Member Time to do something Posted October 24, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted October 24, 2008 I have oily skin and when I'm photographed sometimes the skin really shines. I was told about a product that Clinique for Men makes that reduces shine. I tried it and it really works. I don't use it all the time but if I've got an important event where I know photos will be taken I use it. It gives the skin a matte' kind of appearance. It will reduce the shiny look. I assume it would work for your situation too. It isn't sticky, gooey or oily I think it is water based and it just kind of blends right into the skin. Hope this helps. Senior Member new2thissite Posted October 27, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted October 27, 2008 You may want to try Lancome Pure Focus T-Zone Powder Gel. I suspect other companies make similar products. My Hair Loss Weblog - Hair Transplant with Dr. Bernstein
Regular Member Dr. William Lindsey Posted October 30, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted October 30, 2008 Being shiny is not all bad. As a facial plastic surgeon who is also a shiny forehead guy, I can tell you that oily skin wrinkles with age more slowly than dry skin. So all those acne problems as a teenager did payoff eventually. Dr. Lindsey McLean VA William H.
