Senior Member Smoothy Posted April 10, 2004 Senior Member Share Posted April 10, 2004 If a person has had roughly 3000-3500 grafts in multi procedures in the past, and has average/mild donor hair left-- then what would be an approximate estimate of how many FU grafts they would have left to transplant? Guest
I would say another 2,500-3,500 left. I think most avg. patients have 7k of donor available in 2-3 strip surgeries. And another 2-2.5K of fue if they want more work done. This is for the AVERAGE patient probably.
Regular Member truthseeker Posted April 10, 2004 Regular Member Share Posted April 10, 2004 Smoothy-Don't assume anything. You have to get evaluated by 2-3 excellent doctors who can actually look at your donor area first before getting a final estimation. Everyone is different. Regular Member dtrojanz Posted April 10, 2004 Regular Member Share Posted April 10, 2004 Smooth... the # of grafts that can be extracted depends on the laxity of the scalp...some guys have tight scalps which can only yield 3-5k grafts, others have the sharpei laxity and can get 7-8k grafts. After exhausting strip, then you probably have about 3-5k grafts from scalp FUE, and if you are a hairy SOB, then lots of body hair FUE grafts available
