Regular Member hairdini Posted July 15, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted July 15, 2008 Is it advisable to do my first day wash myself. I live 2 hours from clinic and don't really want to drive all the way back for a 5 minute wash. Can I do this on my own? Or should I just mack the 2 hour drive and have them do it? Should have spent the night there. Thanks!

Senior Member Dewayne Posted July 15, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted July 15, 2008 I'd definitely go back for the one-day post op check. It's more than just for a wash; as the doctor needs to examine you and look at your grafts, donor, give you advice for caring for your head over the next few days, weeks and months. Dr. Cooley hooked me up to some sort of oxygen thing over my head, and gave me valuable advice I probably wouldn't / didn't remember from the day of surgery. 100? Senior Member badger_01 Posted July 15, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted July 15, 2008 yeah..I'd say suck it up and drive back there. You've invested alot of time and money already...whats another 4 hour round trip . Like Dewayne said, it is important to let the doc examine your grafts and do "push backs" of any grafts that may have come loose. I know, I had some minimal bleeding/oozing the first night, and that made my scalp messy but the wash and treatment at the clinic made it look and feel 200% better. - badger 3279 grafts with Dr Gabel - 06/12/08 My Hair Loss Website - Hair Transplant with Dr. Gabel
