DO vs MD?

DO is Doctor of Ostopathic and MD is Medical Doctor. They are 2 different types of medical schools. Historically DO's trained in pharmacology medicine and manipulation and MD's trained in surgerical medicine. However, within the last 10 yrs both schools have about the same kind of training. So their is not much difference between DO's and MD's both have to go through similiar training and both are in the same kind of residency programs.

My preference would be MD for surgery but that is just me.

It's possible to get a good HT from a DO, although I would prefer an MD.

On a related note, you may be interested to know that Osteopaths (D.O.s) had "quack-ish" historical origins, when they were established years ago.
