I have been on propecia for 8 years. I must say the first five years i really kept all my remaining hair and it totally slowed down hair loss if not stopped it.

The last 2 years i have noticed i have began to shep alot more hair and my crown and gotten thin.

I talked To Dr, bernstein last week and he explained the bell curve of propecia after 5 or 6 yrs it loses it effectiness taking 1 mg a day.

He recommened i start taking Proscar 5mg every other day or two propecia's a day.

Has anyone tried this and does it work? It just seems like a large dose but he told me it should help me . Any remarks?

Hi

I've been on it for a while as well but never had a problem other than one shedding incident. I do not think their is any evidence of Propecia losing it's effectiviness over time . Maybe it's just shedding?

1 - 5 mg of Propecia is not a large dose at all. Think of all of the other nutrients that we need 1,000-3,000 mgs of to see any impact.

As long as the rivers flow

As long as the sun shall shine

And the grass will grow

Let me listen, I will learn to speak

The old language

Yes, I yearn to bathe in blue skies

And fall apart from the world of machines

Regain my feet and my pounding heart

Dangerous analogy dhuge67... a few milligrams of neurotoxins and a great many other substances can kill within seconds (e.g. snake venoms, cyanides, as well a great number of faceless everyday chemicals); pharmaceutical agents are not nutritious. Your body has evolved over time to survive the torturous impacts nature has thrown at it: beware of screwing with the equilibrium- the axiom of "less is always more" rings true as far as drug supplementing by otherwise healthy individuals is concerned. Be careful; the scienfic community's jury is still out even on matters that appear to be concluded and safe from the available literature.
