Senior Member BigBill1234 Posted August 20, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted August 20, 2009 Can combing my hair backwards over the period of a year effect the growth direction of transplanted hairs?
Bill - Seemiller
BigBill, It takes some time to train hair to style it the way you want to. However, the actual direction of the hair surfacing the scalp doesn't change. I hope this helps. Bill
Dr. Glenn Charles
Growth direction cannot really be changed. What can be modified is styling direction. The length of the hair strongly influences the styling options of the hair.. The longer the hair the easier it will be to change its styling direction. Hair direction is a very important factor in the planning a hair restoration procedure. In most cases the doctor will be able to find at least a few original hairs in the recipient area, and will match the direction of the new grafted hairs.
