  1. Bigmac, Thanks for agreeing to share Dr Jone's comments regarding your concerns. I am sure the follow up will be much better in person than any digital camera could ever portray. Baldbozo, I am in no rush to repair this scar until my scalp is ready (healed with proper laxity) and it has been determined which type repair procedure and Dr are best for MY case.
  2. Bigmac, I think that it would be appropriate to post your follow up experience and plans for the future in a new thread of your own. I too plan to report my progress in a thread of my own that will keep focused on positive forward progress. The main point is that you need to decide now that you will post tomorrow no matter what the decision is on the HT results. I would not be surprised if Dr Jones even posted a thread (with your permission) regarding his findings during your evaluation. Would you agree to such a post by Dr Jones?
  3. Has anyone heard any updates from Chad the resident M.D. that went to Dr Jones in Oakville?
  4. Has anyone heard any updates from Chad the resident M.D. that went to Dr Jones in Oakville?
  5. My donor was closed with sutures, however he is now using staples. I have yet to read of anyone here who has commented on a HT done by Dr Jones since he's been using staples. I would guess he started using staples around September 2003.
  6. After my next haircut I will post some 8 month photos of the recipient and donor site. I will not be planning to repair the scar until maybe 18 months post HT.
  7. Yes, I am both posters. Sorry, I have explained before about the fact I chose unique names back before I ever had a HT. Wide Scar...yes. I have already addressed the issue with Dr Jones and am satisfied with the attention he continues to give the situation. There is nothing I can do now at 8 months about the scar but keep in contact with Dr Jones. The recipient site is growing and coming along well. I wanted to participate in this post to address the fact that Dr Jones has never given me any indication that I'm on my own with this scar or I shouldn't be honest about my results with others. I am a believer in seeing things through from beginning to end. Hey, my recipient site looks good thus far, and with some trust and patience the rest will come together (tightly I hope). I'm not going anywhere, so you can be sure I will continue to read and post until HTs are no longer an issue for me.
  8. I find it hard to believe that Dr J would not return calls or emails. I do not believe in the LEAST that he would mistreat anyone over the phone or in person. No Way. I am 8 months post HT and Dr J STILL has time for my calls and email updates. I am amazed he can keep up with his current patients while spending so much time with past and prospective patients. If you have a problem with any aspect of your Dr's work you need to discuss it immediately with THAT Dr first. Your Dr should not read about your issues here before you have spoken with him/her first (that does no one any good). Lastly, I know that Dr Jones stands behind his work and is not concerned with making money. His rates are the most competitive out there for strip and FUE. Why would anyone want his/her product walking around for years with a less than acceptable result? I believe the man truly is upstanding and would correct issues outside of what is standard for the industry.
  9. Here is a reply you made to one of my posts just days before my HT with Dr Jones. You seem pleased in the post, so why didn't you say anything then? I guess I'm curious what could have changed since then to make you have a change of heart. bigmac New REAL Hair Club Member posted June 19, 2003 06:36 AM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- #3 I to had a HT with Dr Jones 8 weeks ago before the HT I had my Stylist use a #3 blade on his hair trimmer. The #3 blade was short enough for Dr Jones, he did not have to cut my hair. Also for the back of the head you could not see the stitches on the strip.I went back to Dr Jones 10 days after the HT to remove the stiches the lengh of my hair was long enough not to see the scar from the HT. After 8 weeks the scar is still red but not as noticeable as each week passes my head is starting to feel like it was prior to the HT.Good luck -------------------------------------------------- [This message was edited by Son of a Plug on January 17, 2004 at 06:12 PM.]
  10. I think you are taking the high road indeed. I wish you the best of luck!!
  11. Parable, I wonder if he even realizes that by just refunding your money he will save 10's of thousands dollars in future revenues. Imagine what prospective clients would think about him and his work if they saw your shaved head as they exited his office. I think he should, at the VERY LEAST, agree to wire money to the Dr of your choice that fixes your scar (that way he could never say you just wanted a free HT). BTW: I just did a GOOGLE search on "Dr Barry White" and did not see any links to your story anywhere. Good Luck!!
  12. I agree with everything Belgiumdude has advised. I was on Proscar when my wife got pregnant and I was very nervous about any amounts I may have passed onto my wife & the baby. Her Dr said the amounts passed in semen is so small there is virtually no risk of birth defects due to the Proscar. However, because you have to cut Proscar be extra careful not to let your wife be exposed to the cut pills or crumbs left from cutting. Propecia would be a good call for the period before conception on through birth.
  13. Mr T, I actually combed through a couple in growns this week. I hadn't noticed any for a few weeks and then I had 2 in one week. I can't wait for things to thicken up more. Storage, Thanks for the compliment on the NW 3, however with only thin coverage in the crown and a deep alley on each side, I couldn't pass for a NW 3. My forelock had also thinned out giving me the beginning of the "Island" tuft of hair in the front. At this point the density along the hairline needs to thicken up more to pass for a natural look. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
  14. These after shots are also at 5 months. I tried to get same the pose in better lighting.
  15. Here is a real "before" shot. I think it's better to show "before" pics BEFORE the buzz cut
  16. I thought I'd post a couple pics of my temples at the 5 month mark for anyone curious for an update. These are close-ups
  17. How does Avodart fit into a person's health plan? What is the typical out of pocket expense if covered? Sounds promising.
  18. I am at 14 weeks and had patiently waited to get the "3month monkey" off my back. I heard so much about the 3 month mark that I guess I was expecting all 3,313 FU to suddenly be present and accounted for on the 12 week anniversary. I sent pics to my Doc and he said everything looks great so far, and that at 6 months there will be even more new growth continuing out to 1 year. Was there a previous post which calculated % growth per month? For example...40% at 4 months, 60% at 6 months ect.
  19. Wow,, I thought I was the only one. The hairs are bent or kinked in the donor region just at the top 1/4 of each hair. (After three months growth). I wonder if this was from the way the hair was parted back for the strip removal? Anyway, I'm due for my monthly haircut and this should be the month that the last bit of kink should be trimmed off. Also, I too have shock to my donor strip and am monitoring it DAILY.
  20. My 1st, I also had my HT performed on 6/24/2003 (3,313 FU strip) and have noticed strong growth in the temples but am having a hard time estimating growth elsewhere since I was not slick bald in any other areas. Thanks for the 90 - 120 days mark for new growth since my left temple has 1 cm2 of no growth yet. The rest of the left and right temples are covered in new hair but that one spot is empty. I hope it wakes up soon otherwise I'll be combing my hair to the left
  21. On tuesday I will be three months since 3,313 FU strip. (Pics will be posted by mid week) I have very solid growth in my temples (where there was previosly no hair) however in my left temple there is 1cm2 area with no new sprouts. Much of the growth to which I refer are hairs that never shed but there is quite a bit of new whispy growth. Question: For how long will new hair continue to sprout from bare skin? Is this normal to have a bare spot among all new growth? Thanks!

  23. To the contrary, I believe it makes the Dr's job easier implanting among existing hair, allows the Dr to mimic the natural angle of existing hair, and I found that once the scabs are gone people tend to only notice you've cut your hair drastically. If you maintain the buzzed look for 3 or 4 months following the HT the new hairs will appear much less noticable for NW 5 or greater patients.
