Ht's are WAY overpriced. Now i know some guys will start up saying blablabla take into account this and that, but we all know it's taking advantage of someones misery. Ht's could cost half as much and the Doctors would still have plenty of Sports Car/Mansion/Vacation money icon_smile.gif

Gotta agree with u on the price of surgery.

Im pretty sure the patient advocates on here will say taking into account skill, time, techs, overheads etc ,it is good value for money, when u break a surgery down into its individual parts.

I often hear PLAN for future surgery requirements ,all very well n good if your a single fella with no family commitments.

I wonder how many have undergone procedures and basically lumbered them selves with a substantial debt at the end of the day, many of whom i would imagine post on here.

Its a shame the cost is not more accessible to the more average Joe where there most certainly would await a vast untapped source of business to the clinics willing to lower rates..

  2. Hi 2B,

the fact that u are comfortable with your baldness is great.

If what you say about your donor and hair characteristics is correct then u stand a good chance of

creating the illusion of hair once again in your balding areas.

How u choose to recreate a hairline and additional coverage should be down to consultation with your self

    and your chosen surgeon.

Because of your level of baldness, good donor and hair characteristics are everything as is a realistic attitude to what can be achieved via HT surgery.

If your comfortable with your lot why not wait for future developments for cures.

You could also just revert back to NOT REALLY CARING as u stated at the beginning of your post.

Whatever your chosen path ,best of luck.

  3. As a matter of interest on this post ,i have a twin brother who smokes like a chimney who also has lost hair.

We both began to loose in our early teens and now are in our late thirties.

    I do not smoke.

I still have most of my frontal region, around Norwood 3 with no crown loss.

He is i would estimate around Norwood 4.

Now this could possibly be due to either genetic makeup or lifestyle differences.

  4. One point I was thinking of though was the fact that if I understand Hair Loss correctly it is caused by the DHT in the scalp killing/choking the hairs. DHT is a product of the body converting testosterone. You would think that if the drug worked all through my 20's and into my early 30's, then it would continue working as it was or have an easier time working as testosterone decreases past 30 in men. It would seem to me the drug would have less DHT conversion to block and therefore work as good or better. Just my own incoherent thoughts.. :0)

Yeh Kal the deeper mysteries of Hairloss eh?

What your saying makes sense ,you would think that if you made it through the early high testosterone days then it should be fairly maintainable any Hairloss.

    Go figure?.

  5. I think its only natural anyone embarking on a Finasteride or Minoxidil program to hope for instant results, or see things that are inconsequential in the greater scheme of things.

I would give this drug at least a year of use before you asses if it has worked for you.

Remember if it halts your Hair loss then its a job well done, if you have regrowth then its the icing on the cake. icon_smile.gif

  6. Without any photographic evidence, this means nothing.

If it is indeed how it is put across then photographs would be the icing on the cake.

A person can easily angle their head to maintain any anonymity in order to post before and after pictures (if this is the reluctance here).

  7. Do you have no photographs of your own to back up these claims?.

Surely this would encourage those who would be willing to try if there were evidence to the fact.

I would encourage you to do this and not others as you are the one trailblazing this personal experience.
