  1. worried, Thanks for the encouragement. It already has made a BIG improvement! I'll soon start a weblog and post more pictures as the months go by.
  2. Thank you Gorpy and Mrjb, I appreciate the comments. Right now I'm seeing hair where it wasn't before so I'm really estatic! Of course, thanks to the knowledge I've gained here, it's most likely gonna do a "disappearing act" soon. Time for a lot of meditation and "law of attraction" manifestation to get some of those suckers to stick around... I figure it can't hurt right?
  3. Thanks tkerr22 for the vote of confidence! Congratulations on your recent procedure with Alexander... it looks great too!
  4. Hi, Just got back following a remarkable procedure with Dr. Sharon Keene of Tucson, AZ. Because I already had a fair amount of frontal and crown hair, she elected to do 25-30/per cm2 to curtail shockloss. Roughly 2200 to the frontal half, and 300 to the crown. At 46, most of it's grey coming from the donor site so it's hard to see at first. And the hairline IMO is really nice... For those of you in the southwest, I seriously suggest you consider Dr. Keene on your list of top-notch HT surgeons. I doubt you will find a more artistic, ethical and skillful doctor. Her association with the Shapiro MG doesn't hurt her credentials either! Additionally, her staff was very personable and professional. All in all, a great experience!

  6. Very good information... thank you. I'm leaving tomorrow morning. A little apprehensive but still very excited! Thanks all! Midiman
  7. Thanks kg... Do the scabs "latch onto" the hair grafts while they're healing? Any risk of pulling some out by being too agressive when cleaning the area? Midi
  8. Thanks hairbank, I guess my concern stems from the fact that Proscar is known primarily as a prostate medication, and ethically some doctors may not want to prescribe it for hairloss. Did you talk with Dr. Wong about a Proscar prescript? Dr. Keene has also suggested EOD usage since my first go-around with Propepia led to major sexual side effects. Now I'm back on 1mg a day prior to surgery with her. Midi
  9. Wow, pretty impressive hairbank! Nice hairline... courtesy of Dr. Wong I assume. Glad you're happy with the results. No doubt the crown will thicken up with time.
  10. Well that's good to know... thanks Jotronic. By nature, I'm a very quick healer so maybe this will be easier than I thought using saline. Anything I can do to ease donor area pain and numbness after surgery?
  11. Yes, Keene... fine doctor from what I've heard here. hairbank, thanks for the advice. Have you seen any regrowth yet from your procedure with Dr. Wong this past February?
  12. maki8787 You know what... it definitely helps. So good in fact that I'm gonna ask the doctor how soon I can start reapplying it. I assume you're going with Dr. Keene or Alexander right? Do you have any post-op treatment plans, products, etc...
  13. Hi, I have a procedure in Arizona next week and I'm wondering what the best post-op treatment plan would be. I'm receiving 2300 grafts. The doctor recommends saline spray instead of GraftCyte. Barring that, what else can I use that's reasonable cost-effective to help with the recovery, and perhaps curtail shockloss? Thanks much! Propecia 1mg daily Nioxin Cleanser, Scalp Therapy and Follicle Booster

  15. I have a HT procedure in one week. The doctor stated I should take Propecia following the procedure to help keep the hair I already have. The problem is, I'd rather split Proscar tablets to save money. Are most doctors willing to write Proscar prescriptions or do their ethics (and/or Merck contractual obligations) discourage this? Thanks
