  1. Atleast let it be known that you are not alone in this area. I starting losing at a young age as well. Being very outgoing, popular and a social butterfly type of guy...appearance is a very big deal. I dont want to take away from your thread and turn the light on me, but your situation was very simliar to mine. Where you have the up on me though is that you found this forum before you made any drastic moves. I feel getting a HT at an early age wasnt a bad move on my end, but not realizing there was more then Bosley out there really buried me financially. I didnt have that bad of results (except a very un-natural type hairline) but the procedure cost me just over $10k. This was money that took me years to save up to use for other reasons then a HT. I was only 22yrs old and made this HUGE decision financially to get a HT with Bosley. Little did I know I was just another sucker. I couldnt believe how badly my pocket took a hit untill I found this forum. What a huge mistake financially I made. Coming across Doctors such as True etc(NY/NJ)...realizing procedures cost almost half of what I paid and could yield 100% better results, I broke down mentally and couldnt believe someone like myself who is usually on top of his game got totally blindsided and royally screwed paying the amount I did and so on. I can go on forever about how badly in every aspect HairLoss has affected my life. Not being able to enjoy the summer with my girlfriend and family, jumping in pools, fun activities that would involve taking my hair from its glued state that only makes it look half normal. Constantly having to have my hair done and with dermatch in it to look decent. Never does my hair leave its "fully done" state or else!!! Ducking certain lighting situations or events that may make it stand out...trust me, your not the only guy : / Like you said, so many people can deal with thinning/being bald, but by no means am I accepting and hair is a huge part of my life in completing my appearance. Being unemployed at the momment and really finding out whats more important in life...Ive been struggling for months to put together in what hopes to be a huge step forward in my treatment plan and creating a better head of hair and more importantly building a better overall me. Bottomline, if I was where you are now...I would have already started Propecia (which I didnt till I was about 24, now 25), had alot more money in my pocket and not have been playing catch up all of these years because of the financial abuse Bosley caused me.
  2. I went to Dr. True for my HT and am very pleased with the outcome. Cannot say enough good things about him, as well as his staff. May be meeting with him soon yet again to discuss my thoughts for the upcoming months.
  3. thanks for the encouraging words guys Happy New Year
  4. Hello all, its been a while since I have posted on the forum. Mainly because (like we all say to try our best and do) Ive tried my best to not think about my hairloss all the time and constantly let it beat me down. Which in turn has somewhat drawn me away from the forum, although Ive been lurking here and there quite a bit reading up : ) -Ive last had a HT with Dr. True in November of 2007. Which 1600 grafts were transfered the front 1/4 of my head and temporal areas on both sides. Everything went great in all aspects as some of you may already know if you had read my write up post op. -About 4.5 months ago my hairline to about a 1/4 inch back give or take (which is the most important to me) really took a hit. Behind that could use some density due to mpb and some premature loss due to the HT. The propecia and rogaine combo has been holding the rest strong (atleast to my liking, especially with a little dermatch!) and slowed my loss down drastically. I only use ROgaine once a day for about 3months now so no sign of regrowth and most of the shedding (due to the Rogaine, not the proscar, that Ive been on for 1.5yrs no) has stopped. -So now for the last several months Ive been coloring most of my hairline with the Dermatch applicator like its a crayon. It looks very unnatural, spaced hairs and a much noticeable colored scalp (which draws even more questions) surrounding the hair. This by no means is fault by the Doctors work but only a result of further loss. The good side of things, any exsisting hairs are mostly all transplanted These past few months have been a real test determining the timeline of my next transplant. After sitting down and thinking long and hard about my financial status, timeline vs income, future hairloss, donor supply etc...Ive closed it down to only being able to feel like this for a few more months! But will my income allow for this? As if things couldnt get worse at times you feel almost like giving up, curl up in a corner and continue to live a life that wasnt meant for you! Like most of us here I could talk about this forever and Im sorry if I sound like Im looking for pitty but I most definately am not. Just would like some feedback and others thoughts on my position and what they would maybe do? Have Doctors knowing times are rough for all done anything in good faith? Cheapers grafts etc? Anything to instill a little hope in my eyes hehe Sorry for making this a little lengthy and jumpy, I guess thats just me letting out something thats bottled up and "only" opened on this forum. Its tough for some people <shrugs>
  5. Hey guys, time to time I pop up on here with a question or 2. Im always reading though Anyways, last month I started using Rogaine along with Proscar( been on fin for 6 months ) and I understand I may be experiencing shedding ( lets out a weep ) and my crown area looks thinner then ever. But say I wash my hair every day or every other day and theres very few hairs in the drain if any at all. Now say I dont wash my hair for several days over the course of the weekend for instance. I then look in the drain and theres big clump!! The fin I can say has slowed down my hair loss alot and the Rogaine I just started so Im definately shedding. But never noticed a clump of hair like this in the longest of time! Could it be do to not washing my hair out!!! Btw I do use Nizoral 1% 2-3x a week.

  7. Thanks for the replies guys! Unfortunately at the time I dont have a way of getting up to date pictures on the forum : / I would think even if the hairs were just sprouted I woould atleast see a little bit of coverage at this time. I know its to early to make a valid assessment but when I noticed new growth the hair was very dark n stubbly. Hopefully in 2 months I can be put at ease a bit more
  8. I had a HT of 1574 fut November 2nd of last year into the thinning area on the top frontal/middle portion of my head. Some hairline touchup and temple area as well. Im inching up on 5months now and Im really starting to get worried...the only growth I seem to notice is along my hairline and temples areas. The thinning spots on top seem just as thin and much scalp still showing. Shouldnt I been seeing some coverage and not so much white! I know not to get shaken up to early but at 5months shouldnt I atleast see some sprout coverage! ughhh I wanna crawl into a corner

  10. thanks for the reply Bill...as always the fin has seemed to slow down my hair loss and I havent noticed any regrowth yet. It still seems a little early to make a final assessment as to how great it is. But I'll definatley be starting the rogaine as well for the one two punch hope it helps!
  11. Ive currently been on finasteride (proscar) for about 5months now. Im thinking of switching over to Propecia for the ease of no cutting and guarnteed dosage everytime. Anyways, I want to start on Rogaine foam as well. Now my questions: Say I stay on Rogaine Foam for 6months or so and have some regrowth and strenghting in crown region. I then stop but continue on Propecia. Would the finasteride uphold and regrowth from the minoxidil? Second, I know that both brand name and generic contain finasteride. But have there been any reports of the generic not doing the trick as well the brand name finasteride? Id really appreciate some help thanks guys!

  13. Also Dr. True patient, so far 3 and a half months post op and pretty satisfied with the little growth I had I dont know the link but I posted a thread in HTexperience section. Give a search, its recent too. Just last November Hope it helps!
  14. yea thanks Bill. I knew it wasnt a graft falling out, that would be impossible at that time. It just had me confused because there was no question it was a scab with 2hairs tied in and I would think at 2.5 months post op...all scabbing is well over with <shrugs>
  15. I was running my hands through my hair the other day and felt somethin on my scalp. So I massaged at it and I made sure to follow it out through my hair. Out came a scab with 2grafts connected. Im positive as to what it was and I certainly followed post op instructions. Im 2.5 months post op, is this possible, just a way late bloomer?
  16. As far as Proscar goes! Is the generic version (besides the shape of the pill) any different at all from the brand name? I would think not since I wouldnt be able to be sold but...it caught me off guard when I filled out my prescription. I dont want to bother my doctor because I probably already know the answer but...anyone?
  17. Lookin good for such a short time arrie. Looks as if your going to have an excellent end result. Any remedies you used in thought to help speed the process? As Im taking 2g of MSM a day along with multivitamin and working out and eating very healthy so....
  18. Ive read numerous remarks about ones head being itchy in the spots their going to lose their hair? How well does that stand?

  20. hey than, tricep makes up about 3quarters of your arm. Take a look at most...well alot of budybuilders etc etc.... You'll never see a bigger bicep then tricep. The tricep has more heads. TugBoats! I know a slew of "shocker" specific exercies. Remember the body adapts quickly so you have to constantly throw it some curve balls however that may be. Change in diet, time you life, how much weight you lift, rest periods, exercise order (leave ego at door when doin BB bench after db flies as pre-exhaust) etc etc
  21. I recently had a HT with Dr. True last month. So results are far from to speak of but as for everything else goes....A+ in my book I would definately meet with him again if and when needed for another HT. - pm me if you have any questions
  22. nervous nelly is right on man. I use it and it work greaaaaaaaaat for my top coverage because I still have a good bulk over native hair. As for my thin hairline it doesnt work that great. One thing you'll definatley have to get is the spray top! But the hairline alot of it ends up on my scalp and bulks up in patches so you spend alot of time trying to make it look unnoticable. Although I may be using to much haha. Its powdery so it does get messy and I also have dermatch on the way to use for my hairline along with toppik on top. Ill keep you posted on how it goes
  23. lol hairbank, dhoose....you are "not" allowed. haha jk I can say I have a great well put together body. Even after growing up playing soccer and wrestling my whole life, I never had leg muscle seperation like that. But if you want it you get it. For one I never competed and 2 I mainly heavy compound press movements and rarely rep out on legs. Nor do I seperate 2days for quads/hams but I "do not" neglect them. Nor should anyone as deeeeeep squats are a sick mass builder. You dont do squats? You dont grow to great potential. hairbank-i can talk hair all day too but that makes me upset lol and at this point im dealing with what I have (which isnt bad and cant do much more then that) and patiently waiting for my HT w/dr. true to start sprouting. Im only out a month dec.2 so I gots a loong way to go Yesterday was my first day back from the 2 week break (ht) and I cant wait for a month to pass!!! Posting pix sounds like a good idea. Seems like its you and I till the end old man!! lol jk Imagine if we now discover we've been working out next to each other the whole time hahaha Hey your that guy from the gym, I rmember you!
  24. thanks for your input guys... hairbank- it just looked as if it was such a bulky head on the applicator they give you, i read then later thought it might not be a bad idea to use a toothebrush cover the thin hair a little better from it being surrounded by the bristles? Only thoughts because it should be arriving any day so Ill have to play. Just like you said sNp, experiment
