  1. I travelled to Pakistan in mid feb with my 7 year old son for a H/T. we stayed in the Capital Islamabad. Where I stayed there was many europeans male/female and around the corner there where Europeans working in a English school teaching for the GVT. The place was clean pretty modern all the facillities one can ask for. The shopping was incredible I shopped like crazy snapping up all the designer brands I mean legit not fakes. The food was fab, the climate, the hospitality. We had a driver who took us to mueseums, zoos, and othet places of interest and also to The North 3 hour drive from the Capital, mind blowing scenary of mountains , water falls and many hotels with Europeans and Americans as tourists not to mention the amount of Hippies we saw with their big fat motor bikes camping in the open near huge lakes. Security was also pretty high with police stationed almost on every corner businesses with private gaurds. In a nut shell I felt more safe there than in the UK I could even go out at night 11.00pm until 2.00am as the public mainly tend to come out at nights for some strange reason. And it was very cheap.
  2. I went to dr Humayun at the time. My wife has measured the scar again, it seems in some places it is 2mm, 3mm, and 4mm,this is repeated throughout the line it keeps varying. There are little sprouts of hair popping out here and there in the scar area , but nothing major. Also I would like to say that the scar line is very straight and ill post some pics shortly. .
  3. Im 9 weeks post op and my scar is just under a quater of an inch" wide 4mm to be exact and pinky in colour. Is this normal. Also what other measures can taken in order minimise the actuall scar visibility, besides just growing hair in length. I always have a no1 buzz cut due to the physical activities I do i,e, contact sport etc..
  4. How much hair can one really expect to grow through the scar area. Im 9 weeks post op and very little growth has appeared. Is there a possiblility to expect more growth as time passes to reduce the scar appearance???? Cheers

  6. All I can say to you is be carefull.
  7. After reading more about the Noble clinic. Im surprised how these people are allowed to even conduct their business taking into account the many unsatisfied disgruntled patients there are out there. If this had been a DRs surgery/ dentitian they would have had their licences revoked or even struck off. It seems the Noble clinic according to some, is not so Noble after all. Maybe a title the Not So Noble Clinic would be more befitting.
  8. Yes Spex thats right I was mainly concentrating or looking into mainly the recognised DRS, trying to understand the procedures what is involved, who is who, what are the prices, where are they based the cost, etc etc wasnt easy. In the beginning I ruled out the idea of having a H/T in the UK as I was lead to believe there are no real H/T surgeons in the UK and that the ones that did exist were very expensive in Harley street London and the best can only be found in USA/canada this was in another forum similair to this . I embarked on a journey checking out the DRS from Canada/ USA That lead me to this forum, from here I found drs talked about in the USA, Canada, (Farjo clinic UK Manchester this was later on after receiving a email from Bill) to Pakistan Humayun who is also not here anymore this was after my H/T ), it actualy took just over a year to take the decision I did. These names Im hearing about Like Rogers, Noble clinic is news to me etc I never knew even existed. Im now trying to educate some opf the new guys who I know about H/Ts to save them from being butchered or falling into the wrong hands advising them stick to the forum and ask questions here and get the information you need from the experts.
  9. My N/S was roughly hovering in between the 5/6ish . Now 6 weeks post -I had a close inspection in the mirror today after many days and to be quite honest I cant make out whats really going on, some of the scalp has what appears to be blackheads, some tiny visible what seem to look like pours? some very very very fine sprouts, and a very few thick sprouts what seem to be 2/3 sprouting from one place. Bills did explain this to me but I lost his email he sent. Also some hairs seem to be appearing in the scar are as well. The other thing is that there still is some numbness Is all ive explained normal????. It just seems a bit of a mish mash of events taking place on my scalp.
  10. Sorry Balody!! it was Dr Rogers he mentioned and not Ron Davies maybe I didnt hear him correctly what he was saying at the time. Where I got Ron Davies from ????????
  11. Cheers Dewayne. Also I think im going to be looking in to this over the year at university via physiologists to see if I can find any real hard core evidence to suggest light rubbing in the proliferative stage can reduce scar appearance.
  12. Balody hope you dont mind but what kind of a price range are looking at with Frajo and also is he flexible with his prices ???
  13. No probs Balody fire away man, Im actually N/African Tunisian Asian and my freind is Asian. Yes about the hair we fellas do tend to have a good texture. Yes maybe Farji maybe on the cards next for me. The Journey to Dr Humayun was a long one and an experience for me and hopefully as ive never been out there before, so the proof of the pudding will be in the eating. so im gonna wait and see what happens. In the meantime my freind has been checking out some surgeons just like I was in the begining , but I was luky enough to find Bill & Pat who in a sense guided me and with feed back from other members I was able to make a decision. I hope it was the right one? So yeh My freinds actually got me to make things easier for him although he keeps comming with all these names despite me telling him dont bother stick to the forum. The latest one he showed me was some fella called Ron Davies UK Leeds????? Ive never heard of him, thats not to say hes rubbish. Any info on him Ive not seen him in the coalition list?
  14. I think when I go back to UNI after the summer holidays I will be asking more about this subject from some of the tutors regarding tissue healing around the scalp area. But saying that, tissue healing was one of the modules we covered for the exam but was more concentrated on the fingers and knee area post op accidents. Iknow leaving the tissue around the areas mentioned can leave poor healing, build up of large scar tissue, scar visibility, and loss of RANGE OF MOVEMENT due elasticity and contractibillity being compromised and sometimes increased sensitivity months after post- OP due to disorganised vascularization i,e, nerves etc growing. There are multiple benefits of rubbing soft tissue , but not sure if this can be applied to the scalp even though that is also considered as soft tissue dermis. I will see if I can get further elaboration on this matter in the meantime it would be great if some qualified DR can help.
  15. OH no Balody!!! defo not yet anyway im still recovering from my last one 5 weeks ago LOL. Its a freind who has asked me about the place and would I consider comming for a H/T with him at this place later this year, thats whay I was curious to find out more, beacuse im pretty sure I heard something about this place but wasnt that sure? if you what I mean. But after reading some of the posts I dont think ill be going there and nor will my freind after I speak to him. Id rather stick to the DRS on this forum.
  16. Ive been told by my physiology tutor to rub the scar perpendicularly as this helps to enhance the proliferative stage in healing. For those who are not aquanited with tissue repair ther are 4 stages. 1, The initial damge to the skin, INFLAMMATION 2, MIGRATION STAGE this is were the bodies cells fight destroy bacteria clean and make way for repair 3, ( THE RUBBING STAGE) The Proliferative stage. This where the real repair takes place and can be manipulated to a degree for good results/quality end product. 4 MATURATION stage this is where the skin has finally been repaired and blood vessels are restored back to normal, fibroblasts & collagen decrease in number. The benefits are that it helps reduce scar tissue, and breaks down adhesions from building up. It also apparently speeds up healing and helps align and enhances fibres in a parallel fashion rather than a network of mish mash laid collagen which in affect reduces contractabillity & stretch of soft tissue. I will look into this further and see if it actually can help reduce or minimise the scar visibility. For further reading 11 TH EDITION PRICIPLES OF ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY Gerard j.
