  3. Midnite --Stick and place is done as you've stated --Make one recipent site hole and place one graft ---Dr.Limmer utilizes technicians who do most of the work --- Arfy -- Dr.Limmer's hairlines aren't as artistic as say Dr.Shapiro's.Dr.Limmer doesn't believe in bringing your hairline down as far as some patients would like.He will utilize your current hairline ---Check out patient's on his web site and you will see his patients end up with a higher hairline than say Shapiro's patients. Not saying Dr.Limmer is wrong at all in being conservative.I'm just stating an opinion.
  4. Cutlass --I found Dr.Limmer from this site.I had the procedure and I'm waiting impatiently for my growth to start. For the money you can't go wrong. The only problem i've stated is that Dr.Limmer is very conservative with his hairline placement. That is the ONLY downfall with him.Everything else is great. He uses the stick and place method which is basically they stick your head with a needle and place the graft right then. They don't make 1500 -2000 holes and then place grafts. Also, the technicians do most of the sticking and placing.BUT......most all other doctors have there technicians place all there grafts also.Dr.Limmer is always right by during the surgery and he is in and out of the room every 15 to 20 mins IF NOT LESS always checking the work being done.
  5. MY doctor ( Limmer ) suggested my hair in the back should be 3/4''
  6. What is the amount of time your supposed to take between having another surgery ???

  8. I sent a picture today to Pat --Hopefully it will be loaded soon.Very minimal swelling, very itchy today but otherwise no other side effects.I have used some ice for swelling.
  9. Yes it is a small world JP !!! I didn't know you were on here at this site. Anyway, day 3 and very minimal swelling, grafts are getting very very itchy --I don't think you can go wrong with Dr.Limmer to tell you the truth. The staff was great, the doctor is very knowledgeable and the price can't be beat.Add all that together and it's a winner for me.You could go to many other quality doctors but for the whole package I wouldn't sway anyone from Dr.Limmer's office.
  10. I returned back home to connecticut from San Antonio this afternoon.I had a approx 1500+ FU session with Dr.Limmer's office yesterday.I won't get into all the basic details but I can tell you that I didn't go wrong by going there.I have read all the rhetoric about stick and place and technicians doing all the work. So,if you reply with all the bashing --It's all useless.I had 1 prior procedure in appprox 1993.It was mini's--I don't know how many to tell you the truth because I was only about 23 at the time.My hair has since recedded much more and these plugs/mini's? where becoming quite noticeable. I have been researching doctors for about a year now reading and reading more on who, what, where, when on hair transplantation techniques of today. I found Dr Limmer's office on this site and I have started topics on here about him and I just kept reading more and more.I decide in November of last year that I would go and have a procedure done in San Antonio. IT's all the same basice stuff as any other office.I felt very little to no pain during the whole procedure.Today I still feel no pain.I didn't take any pain killers just aspirin.MY threshold for pain is high though I may add but I haven't heard of many people having any serious pain from a procedure though. It's true they utilize the stick and place method. The tech who planted my hair had been working at Dr.Limmer's office for 8 years.(In hindsight the Doctor who did my first procedure just sent me a brochure stating "He was the 1st doctor in Connecticut to bring Follicular Unit Transplants to Connecticut") To make my point here the girl who planted my hair has worked with Follicuar Units only and if you look at most doctors they are just starting to utilize them. Dr.Limmer removed the strip and the techs started cutting.I was sutured up with Disolvable sutures and the procedure began at about 9am.During the whole procedure Dr.Limmer was in the room at least every 20-30 mins if not shorter and was always asking how I felt and checking and rechecking the work being done.I was done at approx 5pm. The procedure itself went like a charm.I look forward to great results but time will tell. Do yourself a huge favor and look at Dr.Brad Limmer or his father if your seriously looking to get a top quality procedure done.I've sent out pictures to MANY of the doctors on this site.I've had consultations with a few doctors on this site.Dr.Limmer is a great way to go if your looking for a quality transplant procedure. In my opinion. And last but not least..Dr.Limmer is a VERY GENUINE Doctor and person. He will sit and talk to you and answer any question that you may have.I work in a prison ( for all you bashers out there) so I know when people are truly genuine and who bullsh** and Dr.Limmer is for real. That smile you see in the picture is him from what I saw the whole day yesterday. Any serious questions I will answer email me at --pdm68@yahoo.com ---
  11. I would check out an ALL Follicular Unit Session with Dr.Beehner or any other doctor.I currently am traveling to San Antonio this sunday (From Connecticut) for a 1500 FU session with Dr.Brad Limmer on Monday morning.
  12. Well take a look at the recommended lists and you'll see that many doctors who do ALL Follicular Units Charge under 4.00 per graft for large sessions
  13. So you have had an average of 911 grafts in all 3 sessions --Mini's and FU's done at an average of 4.42 a graft and it not all FU's ----WOW ---Your getting ripped off So if you went all FU by any doctor who charges 4.00 a graft for a big session --and saying Beehner does 911 grafts a session so when your done your gonna have 3644 grafts at a total cost from Dr.Beehner = 4030 per session x's 4 = 16,120. And then going to a FU Only Doc who charges 4.00 a graft for big sessions -that works out to 14,576--So you'll save 2 LESS SURGERYS and save $1500 and have an ALL NATURAL LOOK No Mini's --I don't see where a choice could possibly be. 14. Tell us the whole procedure ---Did the doctor stay in the room the whole time did the doctor do all placing of grafts and did the doctor make all recipent sites?
  15. I was told to measure the area's of my head on which I thought would need to be transplanted.Measure it in centimeteres and find out how many sqaure centimeters I had.My question is how many FU's are place per square centimeter?

  17. Dear Arfy: Why don'y out tell us your whole story with transplants? All that I have read is that you got burned awhile ago.You say your glad"Pat" got a good transplant but you make it seem that there are very few good transplants out there?Maybe you should start a site for anti-transplant patients and explain your self there.I have never read a post where you say something is good. Are you that miserable?
  18. Mike in seattle told me to get as many grafts as possible 2000 and use propecia.Said I could remove the staples myself and that hasson and Wong do 2-4 surgerys a day.
  19. Just because someone wants to be objective and show people that even one of the best surgeons says minigrafts can be just as good if done the right way.Maybe guys don't have 6 bucks a graft to spend on Bernstein and maybe they don't wanna fly 2 1/2 hours to find a surgeon. It seems that everytime someone brings up a different view from arfy he claims to be the god of hairtransplants.he puts down Limmer who invented the things. Yes I compared a guy to a little school girl BECAUSE he wrote on every message board Shapiro/Woods "who's the man and why"? That was stupid. But was even dumber for me to read that posting. And then turn around and say he's going in december like it wasan't already planned.I just hope he gets good results. That's all that counts. The whole point of all this was to let everyone make an educated decision for themselves when choosing a surgeon.
  20. Nearly -(adjective)--In a close manner or relationship 2a)almost but not quite 2b) to the least extent --- Again why bash someone who wants to use Dr.Beehner and or his method of transplantation when the results will ultimately be the same or similar? Who did you transplansts and who did your touch up work?
  21. Doug :Tell us more about Hasson&Wong? Did Dr.Hasson or Wong make all the recipent sites and place some, most or all of the FU's?Who took out your staples?
  22. You know I've been reading alot of stuff on doctors and transplants. In my opinion Dr.Beehner gets a bad rap also because everyone cries about he doesn't use all FU's on most surgerys. The reason I don't care for Beehner is because he wants to preform too many surgerys.BUT If you guys were to really do your homework and stop following Spencer so much if you read on here in the "Research Library" read a paper by "Dr.Shapiro" entitled "Follicular Unit grafts vs Mini Grafts" and you will see if performed in the appropiate way ..Beehner and alot of other doctors way is very good.
