  1. I'm sorry Bill, didn't mean to snub you. I actually wasn't on the forums for a little while, but yes, I'd definitely love to buy you dinner and pick your brain if you'd still let me.

I own my own company and as such am super busy. I do web design, and I'm a Christian who also thinks this thread is nuts, so we probably already have some common ground there. =)

Anyway, again, sorry for the delay.

  2. Its an experimental hairloss medication that got tied up due to politics if I remember right. Wasn't there one rich balding dude who paid like 10k for a years supply? Everyone and their mom was watching his website to see if the stuff worked, and all the forums linked to it with fine print under it that said "we do not condone the use of experimental, non fda approved hair loss treatments"

  3. The purpose of this forum is to make sure there is a place where patients can come and share their honest experience.

On that note, thank you MM. I'd encourage you to share exactly what you think about your experience and I'd also encourage Dr. Rose to do the same. I've met Dr. Rose in person, and he seems like a stand up guy who wants his patients to be happy. MM obviously isn't.

If new pictures need to be taken, I'd encourage MM to have an in-person visit with Dr. Rose so Dr. Rose can address his concerns directly, and take some pictures that are at an angle he deems acceptable.

No one should feel nervous about sharing the honest, unmitigated truth about their experience. Without that, there is no reason for any of us to post here.

I'd also encourage Dr. Rose to post as well.

  4. SalineGirl, if you are looking that route then I would just go with a wig. There is no reputable clinic on the planet that would implant artificial hair into someone's scalp. That's actually been tried, and the whole "foreign object in the body" thing causes big problems.

Sorry to hear about your problem, but I would check out other options.

  5. Who is Dr. Laris?

I haven't had a HT yet, but the scar part scares the bejesus out of me. I don't think the front looks bad or unnatural, but your scar, from what I understand, definitely looks bigger than it should.

Did you research HT's much before you jumped in? Have you looked into using concealers to mask that scar?

From the research I've done, Dr. Rose looks like one of the best when it comes to closures and scars. Might wanna consult with him if you live close to Tampa.

  6. I agree. I don't think we should intentionally scare people, and I don't think we should try to dwell on the negative.

I do think we should be open an honest about the truth though NN. People asking questions and hitting a "if you aren't willing to take the risk, don't go forward" line isn't the best approach in my opinion.

No one is witch hunting, but this is a place where we can ask open questions and get the open truth, unless I'm wrong. If Dr. B made a mistake, he should own up to it. Pat should check it out and tell us what he found out.

I've seen other reputable Dr's do that, like Dr. Hasson. He did surgery on a patient that he admitted he shouldn't have. That doesn't make him any less reputable... in fact, in my opinion, it makes him more reputable, because now we know exactly what went on with that situation.

Let's not dismiss people wanting to know the truth.

  7. Also, behappy, thank you for sharing your site. I'm just curious... as someone who had an (obviously) terrible experience from 89-94 and thereafter, what do you think of the procedures today? How would you rate the quality of work being preformed now, as opposed to back then?

It must be hard for you to trust docs today after what happened in the past.... but with all that Doc's are doing today that they were'nt before, do you?
