Propecia is cheaper so I think I will switch over. cheers again.!!! (must update my hair blog too...been so long since!!)
  5. hi, i have been taking proscar for a good while now and need to renew my order. Is there any difference between proscar and Propecia??? also I have been taking 1/4 tab per day...but read here: http://evamedstore.com/item.php?group_id=57&id=2353 that 1 tab per day is recommended ??? this is a very expensive treatment to take if I upped my dosage to 1tab per day! cheers

  7. hello. I am about 7 1/2 months post surgery and recently (these last 2 weeks) have been getting horrible headaches every morning around 10am. I thought it might just be the heat so have been just popping painkillers. But thought the other day that these migrane type headaches might be a side effect to the surgery. Does this happen often or to anybody else. otherwise the transplant results are great!! i am happy with my new hairline. I will update my blog soon when I get time.(sorry) I don?‚??t think I can deal with these headaches much longer. please God let them not be a permanent side effect of having a HT!!!!!!

  12. oh crap. now im worried. Last night I got an aloe vera plant, split it and drenched my head in the liquid. today it feels crusty (but I think thats the dried aloe vera juice) stayed out of the sun today. and I will contact Dr. True right now cheers lads
  13. i am 1 month post op and got pretty badly sun burnt on my head yesterday. does anyone know if this will damage the folicles or if I have really f**ked up??????? i'm just going to cover my head with cream
  14. yeah unfortunately my new hairline is falling out. i did get internal sutures too, so that probably is the reason for the bumpiness. it?‚??s grand now actually, the scar doesnt sting much anymore. yeah i am looking forward to see what it will look like in 6 months. it will fly by too as i am indeed spending a year in South America. Colombia too hehe. I am so glad i posted here before I went to that "amateur?‚?? in Cork. Doctor True is actually emailing me asking how things are...and wants to see my blog too. happy days
  15. thanks for the reassurance people. I hope the scar will fade back in a week or 2 and will hardly be noticed, because i would like to keep it shaved back. the other thing here is trying to keep clean with bugs & dust and sweat & shit. it hurts when I laugh, but i am totally chuffed with the whole opperation and reccommend Dr. True.
  16. I can?‚??t believe i got it done. man! great experience and I think I might have gotten away with it too!! Dr. True and his staff were great. I am now out of New York and ?‚??recovering?‚??in South America. The only issue is the scar. Should it still tingle after 11 days & it is kind of raised/lumpy on one side and is pretty uncomfortable sleeping on my side. Is this normal.? People have noticed the scar alright but don?‚??t cop it goes all the way round. so I think i got clean away without anybody figuring anything. plus is there any cases where the recipient hair DOESN?‚??T fall out, cos I love my new nairline shaved back lookd cool.!!! just the scar shows cheers for all the help so far lads. Am so glad I didn?‚??t go to that guy in Ireland. f**k the 1,000 deposit!!!

  18. yeah he doesn't head the ball much, or at all. but i doubt it's a wig. He would be training every day with teammates & wouldn't just turn up one day with a wig. On his wages he could afford the best treatment. perhaps done over the summer. yeah gradual transformation seems best, then i suppose.
  19. it turns out that the reason he left the Irish team was because his team-mates pinned him to the ground to see if he had a ht!! http://www.whoateallthepies.tv/2007/10/horror_hair_con.html
  20. thanks lads. Mrjb, yeah do you have a weblog or photos cos I have booked surgery with Dr. True in NY for 13th of March. have paid a $2500 deposit now ... and have to get tested for HIV, Hepatitis B & C & a basic metabolic profile!! is this done by everybody? Have never done a HIV test before and am a wee bit worried. man! also. how long before I can workout again after surgery? (9 weeks is a lot man) thanks again for all your advice
  21. ah balody man, i see you have 2month post op pics of your scar up the now!! these are exactly what I wanted to see. man it's looking good. you can barely see the scar. i guess it's the scar that's the main worry for me. I have read posts of people getting FUE done on the scar later on...... this sounds appealing to me too... would you get that done? ______________________ I cannot seem to find any good reports on DHI. >Chucky, do you have a weblog or photos of your poor ht? & when you say "quite a few drs will do fue if you are suitable", does that mean that i can get a good fue (just not dhi) with a good coalition doctor? sorry if i sound stupid but i'm still not sure, if FUE or a strip ht is for me. i should be booking my surgery within the week as they require 6weeks advance of the date, & just want to clear up some remaining concerns. thanks again
  22. thanks lads. this site is great, and i have 'NGTGB' asking all the questions that i hadn't even thought of. well i figured body hair transplants and no scarring too hard to believe. Wouldn't the hairs of your chest, say, be of different make-up than those of your head...more pube-like? and also only have a certain growth length beore they stop? Balody: yeah man i am still considering a ht!!! basically thats all i've been doing, saving, looking at sites, planning etc. I am going to South America for a year in March.(after the ht) I will shave my head for the surgery. was just wondering about the scar at the back. my hair seems the same as yours .. have you any recent pictures of the 2nd scar??? maybe in about 2months, with the sun, should help hide the evidence? (not that i or anyone will care in Colombia) p.s cheers Bill for the assurances on Dr. True
  23. hey, i am getting warmer as to planning a HT. I have been taking Proscar for about 6months now. 1/4 tab per day. and as to surgery I am planning to head to New York in March (& swaying toward Dr. True who suggest a 4000 graft treatment @ around $14,000) i guess my question is about DHI... if there is "no touch technique" without stitches or scars! why shouldn't this be a good option for a first attempt at hair restoration??? i've just been reading www.dhiglobal.ie no scars? and they use hairs from armpit or chest! so what is there to lose?? i am a wee bit confused about this! i gather strip is cheaper and will give you a higher yield. Someone also wrote "Forget DHI completely unless you want to end up locking yourself ina closet crying your eyes out and thinking of suicide after a horrible result..." i couldn't find much on successful DHI in my research. it's just the scar issue i am concerned about as i might want to shave my head down (1cm maybe) cheers (*if anyone has any comments or can understand my nonsense)
  24. Hey there, I have been researching HT now for a while and have had numerous online consultations with numerous coalition doctors in the U.S and Canada. The number of grafts I have been suggested to get range from 2,500 - 4,500 What I wanted to know is, that Hasson & Wong say this: " Be advised that the doctor will need to shave the area of your scalp that will receive grafts on the morning of the procedure. He needs to do this for two reasons: 1.) In order to achieve the most natural result the growth of the new hair must match that of the native hair as much as possible. The incisions into the recipient scalp must be made parallel to the direction of native hair growth. Only when the hair is shaved to roughly 2mm is the true direction and angle of hair growth revealed. Parallel incisions means parallel growth making the growth angles of the new hair indistinguishable from that of the native hair. 2.) When the native hair in the recipient area is not shaved then the doctor must physically move the hair to the sides in order to make incisions. When this is done the visible angles are distorted and it becomes virtually impossible to match those angles correctly. When this becomes an issue then it is guaranteed that the incisions will cut across the roots of native hairs and cause transection. The transected hairs subsequently die. This effectively reduces the overall net gain from the procedure." I have been considering Dr. True in New York I plan traveling for 9 months.for sure. I could stop off in NY for 2 weeks, get the HT done, not worry about the post surgery appearance and fuck off to South America with shaved head and wait for the results while partying on the beach for half a year I am willing to shave my head to get the best results. This really makes sense and I wonder if other coalition doctors take this parallel incision into consideration? Thanks all for help so far!
