  1. I've noticed that one of the hairs on the tip i grey, and as it goes down gets colored (dark brown). Reversed grey? Has this happened to anyone else?

  3. These pics were taken today. Just a reminder, prcedure was done on 9/18/07, ~3300 grafts. Many grafts shed, many stood in. Could be from he years of finasteride, minoxidil, MSM, flax seeds. What do you guys think?
  4. Bill, Ive been using minoxidil and finasteride for years. I started up the minox about 8 days after the procedure, plus how can shock loss happen so quickly? Doesnt it usually take about 3 months for that to happen?
  5. As you well know from the posts that I posted, on 9/18 I had a 3300 graft transplant by Dr Feller. For the past 3 days, many of te hairs that were implanted are shedding. I wouldn't mind so much, but my existing hair was shaved when I was told that it wouldn't need to be. Well, what's done is done, and now i'm going back to work on Tuesday. Law inforcement lockerrooms are just a perfect place to make fun of a half shaved head. Now that the shedding is noticeable, I really dont see my exisiting hair anymore. Could shockloss of happend that fast? If so, I guess your theory of shaving and minimizing shockloss is out the window, Bill

  7. Taken from Hairlosstalk.com "Hair growth occurs in no other phase of the hair growth cycle except in the anagen phase. The hair shaft is generated by rapid mitotic cell divisions in the hair matrix to produce hair fiber at a rate of 1 to 1.5cm (approximately ?? inch) per month on the scalp. An anagen effluvium occurs if there is sufficient injury to the rapidly dividing keratinocytes in the hair matrix. The insult damages the keratinocytes and diminishes the metabolic activity of the growing hair shaft. The stoppage of cell division results in a thin, weakened hair shaft that is susceptible to fracture with minimal trauma when it reaches the surface of the scalp. Hair breakage in an anagen effluvium occurs within days to weeks (typically 1 to 3 weeks) following the insult to the follicle. A close examination of the hair will show that the scalp end of the hair shaft is dystrophic with a rapidly tapering configuration (bayonet hair)." Right after my transplant, i've been noticing a lot of hair broken right at the base. I see others from grafts that didnt fall yet that are flat to my scalp as if broken. Any thoughts?

  9. Yes, I understand that the hair will fall out, but the question I have is the bent ends. The hair that falls is about 1/4" long, so it's not too hard to see.
  10. It's been over 2 weeks since my procedure, and i've noticed some graft hairs falling out. Some are strange; I noticed that they are straight, and when it gets down to the bottom where it comes from the follicle that its bent at a 45 degree angle. Anyone else have this?

  12. Thanks Bill, hopefully the growth will be as good as the healing! This is a last pic from today to show all the scabbing and redness gone. That one dot is a mole that I had all my life. Hopefully this will be the last few months that i'll see it! This will be the last pic in a few months as i'm sure nothing new will be happening at least until 3 months. A few more graft hairs fell today, maybe 10-15. Hopefully the minoxidil and propecia will help most to stay in (yea, right).
  13. Here's some serious healing in the recipient area since the last pics.
  14. I've read somewhere that proylene glycol in minoxidil can harm the grafts. Is this true?

  16. I'm not sure about too many specifics on things like the length of the donor area. I asked Dr Feller, and said that I have about 10% more than the 3000 grafts I paid for.
  17. I understand that there's a very small percentage of people who never shed their newly transplanted hair after a few weeks, and forgo the resting period. Anyone here like that, or know anyone who did?

  19. Thanks for the pics, Doc. I went to www.fellermedicaldata.com and saw this quote, "If procedure is booked within 1 week of consultation with Dr. Feller the cost is $4,750 no matter how large the session is beyond 1000 grafts" Is this for real?
  20. You mean high on the sides? It doesnt matter; I won't lose the hair there anyway. It's just not in the genes.
  21. Thanks Bill. Here are 2 pics taken about a month before the procedure.
  22. This is a partial view of the donor scar and the recipient area after having about a 3200 graft transplant with Dr Feller. I'm not going to make a comment; i'm curious on what you guys have to say. Those larger scabs are from an infection that had pus under the skin that was drained with shampooing with GraftCyte. I was concerned about losing the grafts there, but I do see hairs poking through the scabs. Tomorrow I have to see Dr Feller to remove the staples. Did anyone have a sore scalp after their procedure where no grafts were placed? Right above my donor scar up to the crown area is sore, and some hair shed after the 2nd day. Still some sheds, but not as much, but the scalp in that area is still sore. Anyone experience this? By the way, I was not totally bald in that whole area. A lot was shaved, and grafts were placed in that area as well as reconstructing my hairline. Here are the pic links:

  24. The 3000+ graphs are healing nicely now on day 6, and i've been using GraftCyte shampoo sometimes twice a day at the front, and at th donor area. Problem is, I received my grafts from the middle top to front area. Now my hair behind all that is shedding! The scalp at that area is also sore, and I have bumps there. I've continued the use of Doctor Lee's 15% Xandrox only in that area, and not at the graft sites. How is this happening now? It's too soon for shock fallout, and its not even in the area where the grafts were placed. A few months back, I started using a "regrowth" shampoo that had Ketincozole in it, along with a bunch of other ingredients. I was told to leave it in for 5 minutes at least 3 times a week. Hair started shedding massively in that same area, with bumps and was sore just like now. I immediately stopped the shampoo, and the scalp healed after a few days, and a few months later, the hair returned. Now with this shedding, most of the hairs that are shed are tapered at the end, with a smal white bulb at the end. Almost possibly the same hairs that just returned from the shed of that regrowth shampoo. I've never had irritation from minoxidil before, so I doubt its from that. Could it be the GraftCyte? I use nothing else on that area.
