  1. It' now over my 3.5 month mark. As you can see from my pics, everything healed up nicely, and I have some growth beginning. I asked a few weeks ago about some grafts that did not shed. Even now there are some hairs that are blunt, short and not growing. I tugged on a few, and they came right out. I emailed Dr Feller about this, thinking that at this point all grafts should be shed or if not, growing, and was answered by his receptionist. She told me that the Dr said to leave them alone. When I asked if tugging on them would hurt the follicle, she said at this point I can't. I still have these hairs, and was wondering if anyone else has(d) these at the 3.5 month mark. On one side where there are some, it seems to be more itchy than normal, and touching these hairs seems to be more sensitive than other areas.
  2. Good Lord, what punishment... wonder what I did wrong in my past life?
  3. Tips of the ears meaning the middle tips. Looking down from the top the highest point of the ear. I never knew what I received, and if you look up a past post, I ask Dr Feller what I received and he answered how many and where he placed them. Never thought to ask why.
  4. No idea, as I hate excercising. But i'm sure that after 3.5 months, i'd be able to do everything as if I never had a transplant. I'm still curious as to why the Dr put the remaining singles at the very back of the transplant. I would think doubles or triples would go there. And I think its more like the 1/3 of the head. Looking down from the top of the head, it starts at the tips of the ears to the front.
  5. I'm pretty sure that I had some shockloss, as by now the shaved native hair is about as long as it was before the Dr shaved it. I'm really not too worried about that, just was mostly worried to have to go in again for a second procedure. I've seen guys pics on here and I cant remember their names, but they had the same loss pattern, and received about the same number of grafts and after it grew in, it appeared that it was very dense, and wouldnt need another procedure. I'm not sure if the Dr could of gotten more grafts; I never asked. Originally at my consultation he estimated about 2500; up to joking 3000 if my wife would ok it. Told him there was none, and to place 3000. So I guess if he estimated 2500, 3281 should give a pretty good density, right?
  6. notgoing, yes I take a 9MP pic, then set the closeup on the camera with an ISO of 80, then snap away. I know I cant judge yet, but i'm worried that when it does grow in after 12 months, it wont look dense; almost like I paid big $$ to look like i'm loosing my hair. I really should of told Dr Feller to put as many as he can; maybe like 4500 or more in that area. I received 3281. We agreed on 3000+, but during the procedure I heard them say that theyre going to have to make 2 or 300 more slits. Dr Feller did, and they placed more grafts. Dr Feller said that I had X amount of singles, all placed in the hairline, Y amount of double & triples behind that, and the remaining singles at the very back of the transplant. Is this because there was nowhere else to place them?
  7. This is my 3 month 2 week update. What do you guys think?

  9. I'd say I have about 50-100 of them. There was about 9 of them in a group by my left temple since I had the procedure done, and I pulled most of them out the other day. They look exactly like the hairs that shed within the first month.
  10. But it's not the blackheads that I was talking about. It's the hairs that were attached to the follicles that were used in the grafts. they're about 1/4"; the same size that they were when they were implanted. They never changed in length, and they come right out with a hook at the end. I'm assuming that they shed, but didnt phisically fall out, and that there's a new hair developing below it, and will be pushed out when the new hair starts growing.
  11. It's going to be 3 months since my procedure of 3280 grafts this Tuesday. I had a few questions that i'm curious about. Most original hairs from the grafts had shed within a month of the procedure. I noticed recently that there are a few thick, blunt short hairs that don't grow; they just stay in the scalp. Someone here suggested that if I tug on these hairs, they'll come right out. They did, and they have a club or hook at the end, which suggests that they were the anagen effluvium hairs. I also was told that they can cause irritation if they stay. My question to this is, if I leave them, will it hinder growth of the new hair, or will the new hair push the old one out? Second question is that assuming you go to a top rated doctor, do all grafts grow provided that they didnt get dislodged at the beginnig of the procedure, or do some die off in the scalp, and never grow? Third, which may be a silly question, but i'll ask it anyway; at 3 months after the procedure, are there still follicles that didnt begin producing hair yet, and are not poking through the scalp?

  13. The doctor who did his hair passed away. I can't remember his name. I saw Dr Feller's hair, and before he told me he had it done, I didnt even suspect it was done.
  14. Hi Dr Feller, I forgot to ask; what was my average FU/cm? Thanks, John

  16. Bill, I'm 3 months this Tuesday into the transplant. As in the post I created asking Dr Feller for the numbers of my procedure, there was some shockloss of the native hair, but I'm not sure if there was any real terminal hairs in the area of the black dots. As I said previously, they appeared the day of the procedure after it was done. I'm not able to get a close up shot of the dots, because the camera cant focus that close. I need a telephoto lens.
  17. Since I've gotten my transplant, I noticed at the very front where the hairline is are 2 o 3 black dots that look like blackheads. They can't be, because I didn't have them the day of the procedure. I also have another back dot that is raised and feels like a shaved beard. Also, would lightly squeezing pimples in the area be bad for the grafts after 3 months?

  19. Thanks for the info, Dr Feller. MNW, funny you should say that about having less hair; I just noticed that yesterday. It must be shockloss. Here's a pic taken 11/25. What do you think, Dr Feller?
  20. Thanks for the replies. There's no question that Dr Feller did a great job; I just wish that I new what my count was, since everyone on here seems to know theirs. What do you think about density? Can anyone guess what the cm2 might be? I wonder if it'll look dense enough where it wouldnt look "see through". Looking at my pic from Sept 28 shows the healed scabs and was before they started shedding, and i looks pretty dense; I can't see were else he could of placed more.
  21. I've tried asking and contacting you several times to ask exactly how many grafts I received on September 18. We agreed on 3000, but you told me that I actually received about 10% more than that. I don't doubt that, but i'd like to know exactly how many; quantities of 1, 2 and 3 group grafts, etc. I figured perhaps you havent been receiving my emails, so i'm posting it here. Everyone on this messageboard seems to know exactly how many grafts they received, and i'd like to have this information as well. Thank you, John

  23. No cysts anywhere, just pimples, and by the way, is it bad for the follicles to squeeze them? The itching is in a area where some transplants were placed. As far as the non growing grafts; when I wash my hair, I usually scrub with my fingertips pretty well, and the never seem to come out. They seemed to grow for a few days after the procedure, but stopped.
  24. Last night I had some massive itching in one spot that I usually get the itch. But this time it was different; it was almost like a burning itch that made me want to really rip at it. Does anyone else have this? Is this normal? The scalp isnt dry, and i'm not sensitive to minoxidil. Also, what are the little stings mean? Lastly, I see a lot of growth cropping up the last week or so, and also see some grafts that never shed, but never grew. They're just there. Will they grow or shed? Its been about 2.5 months now, and they never did anything.
  25. In my experience, thick, blunt tipped hairs are probably transplanted hairs that never fell out. Look at the base of the hairs. If they're darker and thicker at the base, and colorless and tapered at the top, they're probably either shocked hair growing back or transplanted hairs that fell out and are growing back.
