Had a great procedure, and now am waiting for the stuff to grow! Spex, or Dr Feller, can you please post those pics that you took for me?

I think most responses here are right; I do have a history of anxiety, but this is different; 3 days after surgery, my body seemed to of gone haywire. I stopped the Keflex and Vicodins, and was hoping it was those. But today is the 8th day, and today I can really say that this was the first day I was feeling much better. Today was the day I had the staples removed. All day before and after the removal I was fine. Then a few hours later it came on again for a couple of hours, and now im ok again. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. I asked Dr Feller about this, and he said that it is possible that the surgery can do this; especially for people that are predisposed to anxiety. He mentioned a few years ago Spex wrote up a post on this. Spex, ifr you see this post, can you point me in the right direction?

Can this be something like acute stress disorder? They say if it lasts for more than a month it becomes post traumatic stress disorder. Can this procedure do this? 4 years ago when I had this done the first time, I had no problems. Today is actually the first day im starting to feel better since the 14th of this month.

Does anyone know what can be causing this? Can it be the anasthesia? Or the antibiotic Keflex? After the third day of my procedure, I started getting severe panic attacks and all day acute anxiety. I would get occasional panic attacks in the past, but never like this. I took the Keflex as directed and one Vicodin per night for 3 days, and on the third day everything went haywire. I stopped the Keflex and vicodin about 3 days ago, but this persistant anxiety is still with me. Can it be the trauma to the donor area and the staples? I just think it's odd how I was never this bad until the 3rd day after the procedure.

Hairthere;
Oh no; dont get me wrong; I have full faith in Dr Feller; after all this IS the second time I went to him. But this site is very convenient to ask quick questions with knowledgeable members. The first procedure I received ~3200 grafts in the same area as I received now which was ~2100 grafts. The area that I was asking about shockloss was I guess right behind the area that was shaved. Most of the scalp above the donor area is numb (I know, normal) which indicates trauma to the area. But I noticed that a lot of hair is shedding from that spot. No grafts were placed there, but was wondering since the area is numb if hair can shed like shock loss. I know that its normal to lose about 100 hairs per day, but this seems like more hair than normal coming from that spot.

I had my grafts placed in the front and midscalp area. The day after the procedure, I noticed a lot of native hairs shedding in my vertex area. Since this area is close to the donor area, can this be shockloss? The vertex area is numb (which I know is normal for a few months after the procedure). So does this mean that its vulnerable to shockloss?

I will, but I figured this was commonly known and i'd get a quick answer. I'll call him and ask.
-
So I guess that means that on the first day of the procedure it is possible to have grafts without hair shafts?
-
As in my updated weblog, I received a 2nd procedure of about 2200 grafts. When I got home I took photos and posted them on my weblog and album. The photos are of very high quality, and when I zoomed in on them, I noticed some recipient sites that dont have a hair shaft in them. Do you think that these were missed, or could the hair already of fallen out of the follicle, and that its sitting below? Below is a closeup. When you get to the album, click on the left where it says save as hi res:

Thank you. Glad we got that settled.

Thanks Future. Before I posted I did have everything set with price and amount of grafts. I just got a little nervous when the secretary said 1500+ and not 2000 like I thought we agreed on, especially since I paid for 2000. But as I said before, I guess it was a misunderstanding since after I posted I spoke to her again and got it settled. I did want to have this thread deleted but as you can see in the post before yours Bill said he'll "consider" it after everyone reads it. That's why I deleted my original text because I didnt want to make too much out of the misunderstanding.
-
You do that Bill, boy i came here for some answers and support when i didn't understand after asking the secretary, and you started right away with condesending questions like" any reason why you're posting questions like that here" or" we don't appreciate" do you think i posted these questions to spite you? I already asked the secretary first and when i didn't get satisfactory answers i came here. As u know these procedures are stressful and not easy. I would figure that the moderator of a messageboard on this topic would understand and perhaps be a little more helpful than condesending.
-
No, i actually would like to delete the thread, but didn't know how. My surgery is booked for sept 14.
-
By the way, i'm not too concerned with the cost; I just want as many as I can get since I dont plan on getting a 3rd procedure.
-
Bill,
Yes, the reason was for answers I wasn't understanding from the secretary. Anyway, I spoke to her again and I guess they had me down for 1500 which was in error. So all is well.

Why is it when you get a transplant procedure your'e required to get an HIV and a hepatitus C test, but when you get major surgery youre only required to get regular bloodwork done?
-
Thanks, Spex. Its hard to realize the progress unless you look at the before and afters. Do you think that the very frontal area will fill in? I noticed that I still have some hairs that are still in the scalp from when the grafts were put in. Is this normal?
-
-
Nah, as usual, you guys are right; i'm starting to see the overall picture, and it does seem to be filling in. At this point i'm about 50% grown in, and if it continues this way, i'll be very happy.

Done by Dr Feller. 6 month update.
-
I'm not doubtful; I just intended to show my progress, by when I read posts like the one from PGP, I tend to get nervous. But PGP thought it was more than 5 months.
-
For the record, i'm at 5 months 1 week, not 6 months. Dr Feller said that i'm about 40% grown in so far, and about 10% more each month after. I have said that myself that a lot of people seem to have more growth even at the 5 month mark, and I really hope that a lot more will grow in, because I spent a dumpload of money, and went through a lot to get this done.
