  1. I still have good coverage on my hairline, not great but good. It is basically in a v formation, and the hairs within the v formation are kind of thinning. My question is this, IF minoxidil would work to its full strength how would it grow those thinning hairs to its original thickness? I mean, I have read that hairs thin and then they fall out from rogaine, then they start growing new ones, but I cant imagine the hundreds or thousands of hairs on my hairline to fall out, then grow again. If minoxidil does work after a while do those hairs just keep growing but get thicker from the base. Help?
  2. Dr. Arocha, what is the recommended dosage for dutastride?
  3. Dutastride is one of the newest DHT blockers, which is only FDA approved and available for the treatment of prostate enlargement at this time. The main difference between Propecia and Dutastride is that Propecia only inhibits the type II form of 5-alpha reductase enzyme by up to 70%, but Dutastride inhibits both type I and type II forms of 5-alpha reductase by up to 90%. As such, Dutastride inhibits DHT production more effectively. Any opinions?
  4. Hey guys, I can get dutastride for pretty cheap, is it the same thing as propecia?
  5. when one has a transplant done, when you transplant the hairs do they damage the old natural hair follicle that was once growing? I mean, if you were to transplant a hair from the donor area right exactly where a native hair once grew, is that native hair damaged, and could never grow again?

  7. I have a receding hairline that i am trying to bring back with rogaine. My question is do i need propecia with the rogaine for the hairline? Would propecia help the hairline any?
  8. Dr. Carman, As I read yesterday, Dr. Rassman of Los angeles, stated the hair that we had before we lost it is about 97 fu per sq cm. Do you agree?
  9. is this even possible due to our old native hair growing in at about 80-100 fu per sq cm?

  11. Hey guys, I am kinda interested in how people like Adrian (An Advisor for Dr. Rahal) Spex, Jotronic, etc.. all got started. I will be in law school soon but I think it would be really interesting to work for a ht doc. How did you guys get started?

  13. New technology involving hair growth I guess is being reserached right now. In 5-10 years, who knows, we could be able to grow our old hair back.. The stuff we had in high school! Does anyone ever get the thought to wait on hair transplantation til maybe we get some great thing to make native hair grow on our heads? Part of me is optomistic, saying. "Man I am glad it is not the 1980's and there is no alternative to hair loss." Then the negative side says, "Man, I wish we were 100 years into the future, I am sure NO ONE will be bald in 100 years, there must be hair growth products that work right and left."

  15. Hey guys, I saw as many of us have seen is equate minoxidil regrowth agent at wal mart. It contains 5 % minoxidil and is a lot cheaper compared to the rogaine at 5 %. I am in college so this cash is important, would it be alright to switch to the equate minoxidil drops, not foam., Or is the rogaine foam one of a kind?
  16. Bill, you answered my question dead on! That is why you are the best mod out of any site of all time!!!
  17. I know that skilled surgeons can pack around 40 graphs per sq cm but, when we all had our old hair back, how many follicles per sq cm did our native hair have?

  19. Thanks guys, Richie i will look at those photos. I would like for a doc to come on here and comment, such as Dr. Carman
  20. Before my hairloss, i used to wear my hair as the "shaggy" hairstyle, long, and kinda like a surfer would wear his hair, but due to obvious hair loss now I can no longer do that. I have been quoted of needing between 2500-3000 graphs to restore my hairline. What I am basically asking is if a skilled surgeon densely packed graphs, could i have that long natural hairstyle again? And would it look natural, almost like native hair? Sorry for the rookie question. I have never seen a transplant photo of a man post op with long shaggy "beach" hair. Anyone?
  21. You seem comfortable with dr. feller and are satisfied with the results you had. If i were you I would just go back to Dr. Feller to finish it off.. Its only 1500 graphs, so pirce shouldnt be that bad
  22. Hey guys, I am very confused. I was under the impression that Proscar and Propecia were perscription drugs issued by doctor's. And now I am reading through the search button that people on this forum are buying generic proscar and propecia at Sam's Club, Help!

  24. Hey guys, I looked at Robert's thread up above and that was helpful. But i really want to give the non surgical treatments a year to see if they really work before jumping in the surgical chair. I know in prior posts I have said ive been thinking about surgical dates etc.. But i really want to give the Rogaine a chance. What my question is is what are the basics, what do i need exactly? I know Rogaine is a necessity, also propecia/proscar. But is there anything else? Such as a specific vitamin or anything, please I would love your input
