  1. John, I don't think I'm in quite the same situation as you, but I can't say that I'm all that happy with my HT (other than the donor scar being done quite well). Then again, I can't get the hair in the back of my head cut very short or you can see it. I just don't believe that most of my 1100 grafts grew. I can see a handful that did (probably 30 or so are noticeable to me). But there's been no real change from week to week, month to month or pre vs. post op (HT was 11 months ago now). In other words, there was no shock loss suddenly, no gradual change, just the same thin hairline that I had prior to the procedure.
  2. Thanks for any positive feedback guys. Regardless of whether or not I needed the procedure (that is irrelevant at this point btw), it was done and by a top doctor, from what info and research I've seen. I recently saw a couple friends from back home who haven't seen me in over a year and they said they see no difference whatsoever in my hair before and now, but they did notice I put on more muscle weight (I've been going to the gym a lot this year). I just want the positive end result after all is said and done. My worst fear right now is that HT will not work on me and will not only yield no results now, but none in the future. I'll keep waiting patiently though, as there is nothing else I can do! Thanks again! Oh, and I am 31
  3. Here is a comparison picture from Feb. 2008 (top pics, 10 months pre-op) and July 2009 (bottom pics, 7 months post-op). Also, I am not, and have never been, on any hair loss medications. You'll have to factor in somewhat different lighting etc, in the pics, but you can see that it's pretty much the same (for example, my right side has a kind of bald spot further in the hair in 2008 and now). I never had much shock loss and have seen almost NO new sprouts - I've been watching pretty closely. Basically everything has REMAINED/LOOKED THE SAME both before and after, except immediately after the procedure, of course.
  4. Has anyone experienced being around 7 months post-op and not seeing any real new growth? I'm not exaggerating and there has been no real change in my hairline after having 1100 grafts on December 18th. I thought it would take some time, but I'm basically convinced that it is not going to grow at all now. Any feedback, suggestions, or comments are welcome.
  5. Do you HAVE to return to Kentucky the next day? Maybe you'd be better off adjusting your trip to get there a day later and then stay at least a couple days AFTER the surgery. I agree that a doo-rag is a good way to go but be super cautious of every thing you do with your melon! I also bumped my head the next day (on a desk as I bent down like an idiot). Only knocked out one graft but it bled like a son of a b*tch. FYI, that's how you know you lost a graft - the bleeding. Also, I agree as a former western Canadian, Vancouver is a great city. Hope for awesome weather and enjoy! Good luck.
  6. You guys really think 6 months and no real sign of new hair growth is ok or normal? The reason I ask is b/c I also had a HT in late December (2008) and have yet to see any difference. Scar healed really nicely (though it's very noticeable if my hair's cut too short) but I thought I'd see some growth by now....trying to be patient. Another question: Does the donor area begin to grow new hair over the scar or not?
  7. I'm the guy who originally started this thread. It's been a year and a half since I joined this site and posted this thread. I haven't been on here much but have read a fair bit here since then. I did NOT go to Bosley and forfeited the $500 and at this point, am glad I did. At least I don't have to worry about that. I am going to see Dr. Dorin this week, and have heard great things about him! Thanks for all your help soooo long ago everyone.
  8. I'd like to hear from someone who's actually had a procedure in Boston with Dr. Phillips at Bosley. I'm scheduled for this coming Monday (in 3 days) and want to hear a few real life examples and have some questions. Please email me at byro78@yahoo.com Thanks!

  10. Hi, I'm having a procedure done this monday in Boston actually, and was hoping i wouldn't read anything like your post First off, when did u actually have the procedure done? has it been a year? Bosley does guarantee their work so if you're not having hair growth then they should be fixing that, no? I hope I don't run into the same problem, but my good friend is an attorney in MA and used to work for the DA's office here. I'll see what he says. Can u email me at byro78@yahoo.com? Thanks
