  1. I just want to re-iterate what meblindmelon is saying. I never filed a complaint w/ bosley either. Mainly because from what i understand there is'nt much i can do about it. I did however do a follow up appt w/ the doc and he became very offensive. As to say "how dare you not be happy w/ your results" which were clearly not satisfactory to me.

  2. Fishman35,

I know this inst exactly what you want to hear, but you've got alot of experience speaking to you right now. There is no one on here trying to push a certain doc, just lots of people who have had both good and bad experiences. Please if you decide to go thru with the HT w/ this company, remember what is said to you here, and furthermore IF it turns out great DEFINATLY come back and rub it our face. We'd like to think that everyone has your best interest in mind, but in fact thats not always true.

  3. djdennis,

I've already met w/ him but may want to up on your offer. My scar is over a year old. Thanks for the comments about the HT, however i had a hell of alot more hair before my HT. I would never recommend bosley even to my worst enemy. Can you beleive w/ the length of the scar they supposedly only took out 1500 grafts?

  4. Ya, and so is Bosley and MHR. Just ask anyone on here what they think about these 2 companies. The real BBB's are the HT patients themselves. Just wait for replies to this thread. Im sure i wont be the only negative nancy. I made the mistake of going to Bosley and regret it everyday. Just trying to look out for you bro.

  5. Thats great! I actually had a tentative appt scheduled w/ him for the 28th of Feb, but my cat got really sick and the vet bill cost me an arm and a leg, not to mention more hair. LOL. As much as it killed me to have to push back the surgery, my old lady would of killed me if i chose to get a HT before taking care of my pet. Im getting closer to my decision and saving my money. Im not sure where they get their #'s for charging, but maybe they like you more, because i was given a price of $4.15 per graft.LOL. Thats still below what most surgeons are charging. Im glad to hear your doing so well!

  6. djdennis,

No i have not met any patients but would like to. Did Dr. E charge you for the extra grafts? I've done alot of research and have narrowed it down to DR.E and H&W. I think this time i'm more concerned about the scar and trying to conceal it as much as possible, and considering DR.E is a plastic surgeon as well it makes him a very good option. He's also cheaper than H&W which is always good. I Do wonder if doc's price match eachother or if they are just all set in their prices??? Glad to hear that your doing so well though!

  7. It takes a while to get used to something. You shaved your head and immediatlly hated it, how ever shave it for a good 2 months and you'll notice slowly but surely you'll get used to it. I was in the same boat, but i jumped into it before i weighed out all of my options. I went ahead a got the HT w/ one of the hair mills and i regret it every day. Thats not to say im not going to do it again with a good doctor eventually, but now i dont have a choice, unless i dont mind the 8 inch scar on the back of my head. BE CAREFULL!!! Any GOOD doctor would not just give you a HT at your age. Im sure you hate to hear that, but we are just looking out for you. Imagine if you will, you get a HT in 6 months and best case senerio it all grows in. Now fast foward 10 years.. You still have the transplanted hairs but the ones all around it have fallen out. Now what you've got is a little island on the top of your head w/ a nice scar on the back and maybe not enough donar density to cover the rest of the scalp. If you wait 4 or 5 years a good doc can now safley predict the extent of future hair loss and take the right approach to give you the most natural HT. People think that your 20's are the most important time of your life, when in all actuality its after that-that is the most important and potentially the best time. Shave your head now, give it a few months and then get back to us on how much heartache and aggrivation you saved yourself for doing that.

  8. More_hairs

Sorry i wasnt more clear about that. What i meant is that this next time i dont want to extend the length of the scar because until the hair starts to grow in i will keep my hair really short. Then after this procedure i will choose to go more aggressive on the next (3rd) one. Dr. E said he cant make any promises on making the scar look better, but i feel as though he just doesnt want to give a false sense of hope. Sounds like he under promises and over delivers. Thats good!

  9. DR.E and H&W are the only 2 consults iv'e had. Im from N.H and had traveled down to DR. E in NY for the consult. He had said i need about 2200 grafts, but considering i did not want to extend the lentgh of my original scar he said he could get about 1750 out of it. My biggest concern beleive it or not is to make the scar look a little better. with the following procedure i would propably go a little more aggressive.

djdennis.. How are things going so far? How does the scar look/feel?

more_hair/condoguy.. are you guys completly happy w/ dr.E's work?

this question may not be able to be answered but..All things being equal (same # of grafts etc) which doctor seems to be able to make the most cosmetic differance?

  10. Thanks guys. I have had a face to face consult w/ DR.E and he's a great guy and gave me realistic expectations. I also talked to Mike, a consultant from H&W and he was a little more blunt about things w/ me concerning other clinics and what he thinks i may need. To be honest he was a very nice guy, but i didnt quite know how to take him. I've visited both DR E's and H&W's sites and they both do great work from what i can tell. I would be interested in getting some replies from people who have had HT's w/ either one of these guys.

BTW Dewayne.. The picture that i posted was 1yr after the HT and none of it grew. Thats what i get for going to Bosley. I know better this time. Thanks Again!!!
