  1. I "cut" my proscar into 1/4's by biting off the corners so to speak. 1/8ths would have to be difficult to bite. I'm sure my portions aren't even though so therefore my dosage is up and down everyday.I'm not to worried unless I start turning into a shemale I think the crushing method sounds the easiest though.
  2. Contact one of the recommended Doctors here or anywhere else for that matter and tell them that you want a HT. In exchange for it you will "pimp" for them on the internet.Promise to mention their name in all your posts and plaster your face all over the net. Now they may agree to do that for nothing IE. free HT or perhaps they will offer you a discount or maybe some other kind of a reward. Now if they had any balls or integrity, they would tell you to get lost,or then again would they?

    Anyone

I'm not sure what the going rate is for propecia is from where you live, but here anyway(NZ) proscar is a much cheaper option because of the way it is marketed. The strengths are different as proscar is 5mg v's 1mg propecia and therefore proscar is divided into quarters. But by far a cheaper option for you to consider. Re fallout post op.. Info I have here says.. "you may lose 5 to 20% of your hair in the area that has been grafted" "this always grows back within 120 days" I didn't write it so I don't pretend to be the author. My own case seems to me that I'm in the 5% group as I have not really noticed anything.

    proscar

I think you'll find the majority of people take it every day.My doc told me to take it daily and have been on it for 2.5 months now with no problems at all
  5. Well I'm the first to reply and I would think many will respond in the same fashion. At your age your probably too young for a HT. Yeah, sure there is plenty of Docs who will empty your pockets and feed you full of BS because it is within their interests to make money from you. You have done the right thing though, coming here, seeking advice and getting on propecia. Bosley is not recommended here at all and I urge you to cancel you proceedure until you have sought advice from other Docs with a good reputation. Above all don't worry yourself sick over it all and just look at the alternatives first before doing something you may really regret later on. Good luck
  6. I noticed a few guys having some problem with image sizes.A simple solution for Xp users is to download this... http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp Select the "image resizer" plus any other goodies you may want and bingo your in business. You can then right click any photo's you may have and resize them, then post them here.

  8. Actually I don't believe pictures are worth a thousand words.Although they offer before and after effects they don't show/tell the whole story.Eg. density,I think the only way to get a 100% evaluation is to check out a patient first hand in real life. Having said that,I'm going to post up my pics in a few months too.
  9. I remember awhile ago some clinics were doing synthetic hair transplants. From what I understand this practice is pretty much outlawed these days? I understand that the synthetic hair just becomes a wick for infection? Perhaps others may wish to elaborate further.I'm just curious because it seems to be a topic not widely discussed.

    Press release

As Arfy says go here ... http://www.hairmaxforum.com/list.php?f=1 read the forums then make your own mind up. My opinion is that would make an excellent paper weight.
  12. Well thats it then, I have just invented a cure for mpd forever! Any volunteers???
  13. Perhaps one of the Docs could answer this one. I began to wonder if a young male was castrated before the onset of mpb would he ever lose his hair or if a male suffering from mpb was castrated would it stop at that stage?? Curious I did find some information and here is one quote... "Truthfully, for men suffering from male pattern baldness, castration is actually a proven cure, because it stops the production of testosterone which causes hairloss in men. Obviously though, this is not a viable option. For many men in fact, it would defeat the purpose of keeping their hair in the first place". Anyway I have no plans for such a proceedure

  15. Yep the surgeons don't really pay anything for these crappy expensive adds because the "patient" is
  16. Can't answer your question regarding testing, butI think you'll find Proscar is cheaper anywhere....the reason being (as told to me by my Doc)is that that Propecia is marketed directly as a hair saving product and hence "the price" Proscar on the other hand is the same product in a higher dosage and is used for prostrate problems and I assume one of the side affects was hair saving/promotion and perhaps Propecia was derived from it?
  17. Propecia would be swallowed whole as it is 1mg Proscar on the other hand is 5mg per tablet and is broken into 4 pieces for the (roughly)same dosage. It is far cheaper to purchase Proscar(In NZ anyway)and thats why my doctor suggested it rather than propecia. I don't cut my tablets btw,I bite the corners off.The dosage of course won't be exact this way ,but over the 4 days the tablet is consumed and should give the same results otherwise.
  18. Day 4-5 the swelling looks bad. It has moved from my forehead yesterday to over the bridge of my nose and to the corners of my eyes. Shit, I feel like and look like the Elephant man . This morning it has now moved to my face and I have some large bags under my eyes...looks like I went 10 rounds with Mike Tyson. However,I went to work with a cap and sunglasses which I had to wear all day. I had to tell a few people the truth and told some customers I have an eye infection. I expect tomorrow the swelling may subside a little. To anyone planning a proceedure it may be advisable to organise at least a week off work.
  19. Hi... I thought I would drop a line about my recent (2 days ago) proceedure here in New Zealand from an Australian company that comes here every 3 months or so. After a consultation last year because I was getting bothered by my slowly receeding hairline which fortunately is slow as it has taken about 10 years to get to this stage (I am 41). Well after the consultation I was advised I could be done in a couple of days if I wished ,but I put it off. Early this year I also had a chance to go through it,but again deferred it until just 2 days ago (21 Nov) after picking up the courage. I notice my proceedure seems slightly different to some that I have read here in the forums. I arrived early at the day clinic rather scared and was prepared for the "operation". I was given a drug Hypnovel intravenously which was pretty weird as I stayed fully awake whilst the donor site was dealt to.But at the same time I don't remember a lot of it too.I was fully aware at the time they were making the incisions(500)and they kept injecting my scalp with anesthetic and my head felt like a piece of wood.I was lying down all the time with a support under my neck. It took a loooong time to do it from about 8am until approx 2pm in the afternoon .It was ok but I really wanted to get up and out of there after lying all that time.I was pretty wobbly after getting up from the drugs and from being on my back for so long. I was given an anti-inflammatory injection and pain killers to take home as well as some sleeping tablets. Some special shampoo was supplied and have been told to use it every day for ten days After a cup of tea and a sandwhich I was fine. I chose to have a bandage , but it was optional. I had signed forms etc before the op and one point was that I would not drive a car for 12 hours. However I had driven myself there and there was only one way to get home... so I drove ( no problems at all) The first night I had no pain killers or sleeping tablets and so far I haven't had any painkillers, but last night I took one sleeping tablet as the back of my head is pretty sore at the donor site and feels uncomfortable in contact with a pillow.I notice many here have been told to sleep in a chair for a few days. The first day I had hardly any swelling but today the front of my forehead is rather large and the skin looks greasy.Thats probably good beacause the inflammation will be excreting through the skin surface. I plan to return to work next Monday (the op was Thursday)but despite being optermistic that "no one will notice" I'm resigned to the fact that I'm going to be a freak for a week or so. I will wear a cap but I'm going to have to come clean and tell a couple of people at work. Thinking about it,it's no big deal because in the long run I'm going to have hair and "real" hair as in being my own. I would say that the proceedure is more painful than what I expected and more noticable than what I thought it would be,however I'm pretty sure I will/would go through it again if it produces the desired results. I will post back later as it progresses and I have a few pics to post. Cheers
