  1. I use Toppik everyday (have been for years) and LOVE the stuff. I use Dermatch when i plan to go to the beach or pool since its waterproof. It takes me longer to put on and more of a mess than Toppik or i would use it everyday. TOPPIK RULES!
  2. The "Mane and Tail" shampoo was popular in the USA in the 80's. Everyone used it. I will have to take a look at it again...back then i did not have a hairloss problem. I change shampoos every few weeks. I will use one then another then another then go back to the first one and so on. My hairstylist said most shampoos leave a build up and its good to change it from time to time. I use Progain shampoo, Vive, J&J Baby shampoo. I will have to try Pantene Pro-V "Full & Thick
  3. You know what works just as good as coal dust and Toppik (which i love)....finger print dust (like the cops use...think CSI). It sticks to everthing and is made in different colors!
  4. Sounds Great! Thanks for the info. Keep me updated if you would and let me know if you end up getting work done there. I am in VA so that would be close. I am looking at Shapiro and H&W right now.
  5. Is there anyone that has had work done by Dr. Shapiro in the VA/DC/MD area? IF so...can you contact me? I am considering going to them and would like to meet or chat with someone in my area that has had work done by their group. Thanks
  6. Anyone have work done by this Doc? Would love to hear about it. Thanks
  7. Thanks for the input. So how extensive was you shock loss?
  8. I have been using Toppik for a few years now..and i use dark brown. It is a little darker than my hair color. I used the med. brown and you could see it. I think a little darker is better. Also i put in on my crown and then sprinkle it around the rest of my hair. I then comb through it to spread it out evenly with the rest of my hair. I then apply a little hairspray and some finishing gel with wet hands. I have never had anyone say anything to me..and trust me...my wife, brother, sister or mother would have said something by now.
  9. Thanks for the reply. Did you have any pain or do you have any pain now from the procedure? I wonder if a HT is easier or better looking on an African American male rather than a white male. If you get a chance to post some pics...that would be great! Good for you..taking that step. I dont know if i am there yet. How did you find your Doc?
  10. Thanks! I have been off the site for a while sorry i did not respond sooner. If you get some pics...post them please! If you dont mind...how old are you and what was the extent of your hair loss?
  11. WOW..what a thread! I have been using Toppik for a few years now and LOVE it. I even keep it in for a few days at a time (sometimes)but it will come off when in water (pool). I wanted something that I could swim with and orderd Couvre' today (before i read this) and figured i would use it with the Toppik. I have never used Couvre' so i dont know if it will be applied like dermmatch. Your pics look great and the way you applied it looks easy. Is couvre applied the same way...where you can blend it?
  12. Thanks for the input Facelessman! I am not that concerned with travel but thought that if there is someone close by that people on this site have used and liked, i would set up a consult. Has anyone used Epstein and if so...how was it?
  13. I switched to Proscar and cut the tabs into 4 pieces/doses with a pill spliter i bought at CVS and it works great. Here is the BEST part.....my health insurace covers Proscar and it costs me $15(co-pay) for 30 pills...and split into 4 pieces/doses...that is 120 doses for $15....$45 a year!
  14. I used Rogain for about 3 years and then started Propecia. My twin brother just used Propecia. I have been on Propecia for a little over a year. I did use both at first, for a while (6 months?) and then just the Propecia. It seems that i have lost some hair since stopping the Rogain. My twin never used Rogain and just used Propecia and he has not lost any. That would suggest that stopping Rogain even though you are on Propecia could cause hair loss. I have not grown any of the lost hair back since stopping the Rogain so i am thinking about going back to both. Hope that helps.
  15. Are there any good Doctors in the DC/VA/MD area?
