I don't like the extraction area they used, but as far as if it's shock loss or donor depletion, you just have to wait and see. It could grow back right away or it could take 6 months like they said. There's no good way to tell at this point.

It's going to look odd for a while. He's a great Dr, so try not to worry about it. You didn't go to some hair mill.

2. Exercise? The Post-op care guidance provided by the clinic was a bit vague i.e. light sports after 2 weeks and weightlifting + contact/intensive sports after 1 month. Is this the golden rule, is it better to prolong these durations to be safe (ie 2 months before intense sports, although every sport I play gets pretty intense lol so I'm not sure what 'light sports' actually are) or is exercise good for circulation and hair growth?
Wait at least a week to start weightlifting light. 2 to 3 weeks to start going heavier or jogging. You'll know when to stop or when you're going too hard because you'll feel your head either pounding or getting hot and heavy (hard to explain it). I'd wait at least 2 months for contact sports. There's no golden rule on any of this, so some others opinions may be slightly different, but basically just stay away from doing much of anything other than walking the first week and then gradually ease into more intense things over the next few weeks.

If you have a very low pressure shower or if you can adjust the setting to a light/low flow then 5 or 6 days is OK otherwise wait until 8 days to go to a strong flow. Don't go hot. Warm is fine, but stay away from it being very hot for a few weeks.

I wouldn't do that at all, but that's me.

Yeah most people just think you go somewhere, get some hair inserted, and you're done. They have no idea about angles, donor depletion, hairline design, etc. That's why they just pick the cheapest place that they read some good reviews about.

You might be looking more in the range of 3000 - 3500 grafts to get acceptable density. Your donor looks good.
Sure he could use more than 2000, but that isn't the question. The Dr claims he can get about 2000 grafts from his donor. He already used 2500 previously. So the question is where/how is the best way to use those 2000 grafts. I will stick with what I said in a previous thread that I would put 1000 into a wide frontal band and use the other 1000 in the midscalp. If he is limited on donor I don't think it's a good idea to fill in only the front with the entire 2000 grafts. He would end up with a thick front with almost nothing behind it.
I would suggest getting another Drs opinion on how many grafts can be taken from your current donor though as it is possible that another Dr could better utilize the donor area.

Finasteride was thinning out my chest hair. I'm not sure if it was thinning my beard because I am always shaved, but I knew I was going to use a lot of beard and chest hair as I was a NW 7 with no useable scalp donor, so I stopped using Finasteride and I did regrow some chest hair. So my advice on that is if you are going to be using a lot of beard or chest hair and you are still getting side effects on Finasteride even at small doses without knowing if it is even giving you any positive results, then I think you may be better off stopping it.
As far as starting oral Minoxidil, it could cause a shed at the beginning, but since he is using a lot of beard hair and you are already a NW 7 (how much can you possibly shed) then it's probably not really going to make much difference if you start on it now or later. I would do which one you feel more comfortable with.

Your hair looks great right now. You may be just starting to get some minor recession in the corners, so wait 6 months to a year and take new pictures to compare with the current pictures to see if you are losing any.
-
Looks about normal for 3 months. The growth should start kicking in nicely soon.
-
It looks normal. Most of the transplanted hair sheds on just about everyone. Some people don't start shedding until 2 or 3 weeks after the transplant, but some, like yourself, start shedding at just after a week. You should be fine. I was an early shedder too.

Hi @bandanaman_no_more. Welcome to the forums. Thank you for posting your photos. Do you plan on going back for a 2nd session next year to fill in the crown if this one grows in well? Please keep us updated over the coming months with your progress. Good luck with the growth.

This has been an incredible transformation. Do you get people who haven't seen you in two years not even recognize you or can't believe it's you?
-
Great job. I would be thrilled if I were him and had that result.
-
That's a beautiful, natural looking hair line.
-
The end result looks very good. Do you have any "Before" pictures?
-
I think you're OK after a month.
-
The transplanted hair looks too much like rows of hair. You may be able to get away with punching some out and repositioning them to get a more scattered look without needing to take any more grafts from the donor.

He is royalty now in India. They kneel at his feet and call him Your Hairness. Back home in Australia he is known as The Grafted One.

Wow. Your donor does look great at only 1 month post op. In fact the front looks great too. You could be totally skipping the ugly duckling phase.
-
It's looking very good. You're still going to get more filling in over the next few months and as you said at 50 having a bit of a thin crown isn't the worst thing. Look at the before and after. It's a huge change when you compare it to before you had any work done.

It's coming along nicely. Do you plan on going back to remove more of the old grafts in front of the hair line?

I guess I'm pretty much at the end of my journey (for now). I'm 10 months post second surgery and happy with where I've managed to get to.
That's great news. We are happy for you.

Wow. I just watched the videos you posted. Your hair is amazing. I can't believe you were a NW6 / NW7 before !!

You should try a side part hair style. I think you have enough hair now where it won't look like a comb over, but it may make it look much more full.
Repair from Dr. Bisanga - Did adding density result in depleted area?

You are focusing on the negatives and forgetting about the positives. The reason you went to Bisanga was because of the poor hair line you got from somewhere else. That already looks a lot better at only 5 months post op.
